Fomenko's New Chronology
Here is another odd ball theory. It is a weird historical theory from a Russian mathematician called Anatoly Fomenko. What is interesting is that the chess player Garry Kasparov (the best of all time) is a big supporter of his work. I saw a documentary on Kasparov once, and it showed him passionately trying to convert his family to this new way of thinking about history.

The most interesting claim is the one below:

Quote:The New Chronology also contains a reconstruction, an alternative chronology, radically shorter than the conventional chronology, because all ancient history is "folded" onto the Middle Ages. According to the revised chronology, the written history of humankind goes only as far back as AD 800, there is almost no information about events between AD 800–1000, and most known historical events took place in AD 1000–1500

PS Here is a story in one of the major newspapers in this country covering the claims: http://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/worldnew...Slavs.html

RE: Fomenko's New Chronology
I read the Wikipedia article, everybody hates the theory and doesn't think it's real. Something about his views as a part of a renewed Russian imperial ideology.

But question remains why link and post such garbage here.... I would rather read about kardashians then some fantasy theories that can't be proven and are false.
