I've seen this happen over and over again when I was in the military. I always told guys to verify that a kid was theirs before they signed anything, or started giving out wedding bands. One scam broads ran was to tell you that they needed money for an abortion. If I did something stupid like raw dogging I would agree, but I wouldn't give them the money directly. I offered to drive them to the appointment and pay in person. Then the story would change a few days later to "I had a miscarriage".

This guys is getting screwed royally. Here's an excerpt.

Even if the fraud ground of Family Code section 2122(a) applied, Father’s set aside motion is untimely since such a motion must be brought “within one year after the date on which the complaining party either did discover, or should have discovered, the fraud.” Father’s discovery of the fraud occurred in April of 2010, i.e., a date more than 2 ½ years ago.
In laymen’s terms: he was too late. This is the loophole that Crystal Domenech Parsons won the ruling by—resulting in the court ordering SSgt Brandon Parsons to pay another twelve years of child support for a child that he now has no access to.
This is where things get really enraging: Crystal Parsons has recently filed a motion asking the court to order SSgt Parsons to pay $8,535 (on top of his ongoing child support) for the lawyer she hired to defend the mess she created in the first place. Additionally, on a more egregious level, the child—who Brandon Parsons adamantly maintains is the “biggest loser in all of this”—suffers from chronic hereditary illnesses that neither him or Crystal Parsons have. Her refusal and/or inability to name the biological father has greatly inhibited the child from getting the proper care he deserves.

heres the basic problem

men in the military are conditioned to respect loyalty, honor, duty. shit if they dont share those values it can get them killed. in essence the military needs discipline so those values are necessary for men in uniform.

now the military understands that but it also realizes that when men enlist in their late teens and early 20´s they are especially naive and feel bulletproof. anyway as they get older they need something to keep them in the military and responsiblities to family (wife, kids) are a great motivator for men to reconsider leaving. shit, just look at the benefits married men get and its no surprise so many guys in uniform get suckered into getting married.

as for not testing for childsupport. that just goes back to the militaries agenda. the military by the way is the most pro child support, alimony organization out there. i think they can get away with it because military skills are not easily transferable to other jobs like most private sector gigs. that said if a guys is getting his paycheck garnished for child support in the private sector he can and often does quit for another gig. there is no quiting the military unless your contract is up. by getting these soldiers on the hook for child support and alimony it all but ensures you have them in your hooks. after all the real expense for these men that the military incurs is training them after that its just good business to for them to stay as long as possible to get a good return on their investment.

And a lot of these guys are a bunch of lonely homesick kids from small towns that have been conditioned to get married and start a family. So they start a long distance relationship with some chick from back home, save up a few paychecks and ka-boom the shit show (marriage) is on. I can't tell you how many times I tried talking these knucklehead out of this. They think it's the road to a happy sex life. They fuckin you'll get (in court) ain't worth the fuckin you got.
