It struck me today that "spinster shield" might work better than bitch shield, because all she's doing by being snarky is ensuring she'll end up alone. When you get shit from a girl, you say "You might want to lower your spinster shield a little there before it's too late", and walk away. It'll get her thinking if nothing else.

There's a famous feminist mag in the UK called Spare Rib. Sometimes I feel like writing to them and suggesting they change it to Spare Toenail Clipping. Ribs are much too useful.
