Exactly. That's what I said in my complaint to CS admins. Apparently if you've had communication (back and forth) via CS' PM tool, that means you are allowed to provide feedback and vice versa. CS considers that kind of communication to be sufficient for feedback. Most stupid policy ever.

Also, CS admins are merely volunteers who live all over the world. There's no centralized team of paid staff that handles issues between members.

Couchsurfing used to be a goldmine for very pretty foreign girls looking to have a good time. But then it went kinda mainstream when the media started doing stories on it. Now its filled with bozo guys and boring girls.

The option that allows the people hosting to search for those looking for a couch has allowed guys to scoop up any of the hot ones right away.

Yeah, the decision for them to switch to a for-profit company destroyed CS. My guess is that from about 2006-2010 it was a gold mine. Unfortunately just as I was starting to get active on there the plug was pulled. The quality of surfers has gone down hill and there's a lot more freeloaders and drifters. The admins only seem concerned about increasing membership numbers to impress their shareholders, not the quality of the members. The site sucks now.

Pretty lame. Back when you had to contact hosts to find a couch, at least you'd know if a chic read your profile and took an actual interest in wanting to meet you. Same here. A CS admin explained to me what happened. They changed the search algorithm so that is that experienced hosts now rank lower when people search for a host. CS used to work like Airbnb. The more you host and the more good references you got, the higher you would rank in the couchsearch. After many complaints from newbs that weren't getting requests, CS decided that was unfair because the experienced hosts were getting all the requests and the new people were getting hardly any. So they just decided to make it so that new people go straight to the top of the list and hosts with high numbers of references will rank far down the list. If you don't rank within the first few page clicks of the search you might as well not even be on the site as few people are going to drill down more than a few page clicks.

70% is incredibly good for a guy that had problems even having conversations with girls. I doubt most guys on there even have anywhere close to that ratio. But I could see that during the site's goldmine years. I doubt any dude would be getting that ratio on there now.

Some longtime CSers frustrated with the recent changes are migrating over to a site called Be Welcome. Some say that site is like CS before it was ruined. Membership is tiny compared to CS though but may be worth checking out. Thing that sucks though is you might have spent years on CS making great contacts and have tons of stellar references. Then you move to a new site and have to build that over again from scratch.

Good reputation on CS is a very illiquid asset that takes lots of time and effort to acquire. Eventually, one is left wondering how to capitalize on such an asset:

• It cannot be traded for good reputation on Hospitality Club or Be Welcome.
  

• Good reputation and lots of vouches make it easier to host chicks, and to meet CS chicks when traveling. In other words, good karma can be converted into something tangible, like sex. But, in my experience, once one gets close to the age of 35, this conversion becomes harder due to the age difference.
  

Had I known all of this some years ago, I would not have hosted ca. 200 people. What a monumental waste of time...

I wouldn't worry about the age thing too much. If anything I'd say CS is very much an age neutralizer. I've hosted girls a few girls in their late teens/early 20s and I'm mid 30s. They never seemed to give a shit. Though my best experiences were with women around 25-28. I actually prefer that demographic. I've clicked on profiles of guys well into their 40s and they had references from early 20s girls. Most these chics only care if you look cool and like someone who can show them a fun time.

It was pretty easy to tell if a girl was open minded and looking to have a great time that included sex by looking through the profile and sending a few messages. I would never agree right away but would screen and ask her if she was ready to have some fun and willing to go to some parties with me. If she responded enthusiastically I would invite her to surf. If she said she was going to spend time with others or didn’t want to go out at night, I would deny her requests.

My early difficulty with game was just initiating the first conversation, getting the girl to open. I never had problems being a conversationalist and the seduction always came natural. Just those first moments to build some trust were difficult for me. CS instilled some trust for me, especially with glowing positive references.

When they got to my place, I gave them the tour right away. My couch is actually a pretty uncomfortable place to sleep so I would show them that and then show them my huge soft bed and room with plants and flowers in it. The differences between the two were so drastic, it was pure comedy.

Then I told them I would give a tour of the neighborhood and take them to some really nice bars where the bartenders know me (another plus was the girls usually paid for all my drinks) and then to see some music at a small club. Thats when I made my move...she would start dancing and I would dance with her, hands on, smell neck…game on. It was very important to make the move outside of my house. Only 2 bangs resulted from waiting until I got home. Great thing is, there was never any resistance back at mine after we had been fooling around, the bang was assumed.

Curiosity got the best of me and I just did an experiment. Yesterday I created a fake profile of an attractive young white chic and then posted an open couch request. For some reason the CS server hasn't updated and the request isn't live yet. When the request finally post, I'm quite curious to see how many dudes send messages and what their messages look like. I know that any chic that's a 5+ and is traveling alone will have the 3 or more button lit within a day, but it doesn't indicate just how many invites they got beyond that. It could be dozens upon dozens. This little experiment might shed some light. I'll share the results after.

Also, I just made a profile on be welcome. Their system is actually a way cleaner and simpler interface that's effortless to use. CS is now a complete clusterfuck as far as usability. I won't be deleting my CS profile. Might as well keep it since I have all my positive references but I'll check out what else is out there in the meantime. Maybe be welcome will blow up and go through a goldmine phase like CS once did.

In Iran many girls will invite you in all the to their place also, but it's not very easy to get in their pants.
And yeah, in Russia it's very easy too. Every time I've posted a stupid question in a city message board a handful of girls started PM me about things that had nothing to do with the question I posted on the board and many of them already invited me in,even though I didn't ask for an invite. Has anyone indulged in the practice of what I would like to term 'HostJacking', whereby you directly seek out girls who have accepted a host offer already, contact them offering a tour of the city. Then if they are DTF, you take them back to yours. If not, you can get rid of them pretty quickly.

I'm 3 for 3 with this method, I find that the opportunity cost is much lower than actually hosting a girl outright as it means the only way you are turning over accommodation is if pussy is on the menu.

There are downsides though, last week I was having a productive meeting with a 19 year old Dutch girl at a bar in my hometown in Scotland. Out of the blue her host, a 30 year old chubby beta, shows up, screaming at her, threatening me. He ends up getting tossed out by the bar staff.

I did that a few times. Girls would visit my city, find a useful beta idiot in his late 30s to host them, and then they would contact me to ask me if I could show them around. I would take a day off, show the girls around, while the beta host is at work, and sometimes they were DTF and I banged them. Once I banged a Lithuanian chick in her host's living room, and I was freaking out, wondering "What if the guy gets home from work earlier than usual?"

It's the best way of using CS. All the benefits, none of the costs. I highly recommend it.
