So what alternative do you propose? Chatting for an hour or so in the pub is apparently not enough time for these girls to get to know you sufficiently to accept a date. Then we are in a vicious circle: we don't know each other good enough for a date, and since we don't date, we'll never learn about each other.
Unless we are both regulars at the same pub, maybe over the course of several meetings "by chance" she'll feel comfortable enough.
I swear you I tried the standard game dozens of times and it didnt work in this society (it used to work with shallow sluts back home)

You spoke with her for over an hour on FB. Why do you need to talk to her on FB if you live in a small village?
What did you talk about? What did you get out of that conversation?
Let me guess you talked about basic crap and did not even suggest a date or something that would isolate her.
Did you make your intentions clear?

It's a 150,000 inhabitant town. We talked mostly about going out and relationships, so typical gf/bf stuff.

Not an expert dude, I am trying to help. Your attitude is beta and of course now you get defensive over my recommendations.

I have no desire to visit France or your village, trust me it is alot harder where I live but I still stay "positive".

Just an update. I've met this girl again numerous times in the few usual venues. On one occasion we kissed. She still refuses to date me. I stopped bothering about her, but every time our ways cross, she is staring at me. Once in a pub I was dancing with another pretty girl, and the 8 from this thread walked right by us. She didn't get jealous.
