I think if a girl is into the well-dressed, polite type.. it will work wonders. It all depends on the girl. I know, for myself, when in England I do find the girls (and people in general) quite a bit more polite. Going from Egypt to England, for example, it is night and day.

Its a great accent, not really heard in London anymore, the accent you'll hear in inner-city London has been altered due to immigration into a combination of cockney, Caribbean patois and Indian/Pakistani accents. Its known as 'Jafaican' or more correctly Multicultural London English. Its not a nice accent, and watch any 'urban' Brit film in recent years you'll notice it immediately. That said, 'youths' of all races speak in it. Although, I suspect some will drop it when at home or at a job interview!

Due to white flight, Essex is where you'll hear the traditional cockney accent these days, as Lush pointed out!

You'll hear it several other places besides, be it Angel Islington in north central or Aldgate in East Central.

It generally bought me 3 mins that I would have had to work for if I was in Australia. In those 3 mins I just plant seeds to heighten my chances of getting further. Girls in Tennessee didn't really care though, they seemed to be far more interested in the grid iron something about a player called Manning, got that response 6 girls in a row during this one football game.
