So, according to some broad who works for CES, dressing like a slut to advertise gadgets to pasty nerds is OK (they're obviously not going to do away with the practice, since it fucking works... advertising 101), but being called a "babe", what the hay, now that's just crossing the line!

However, the author of the article takes it one step further, and does indeed conclude that women choosing to get paid to display their perky tits and ass is objectifying and excludes women from blah blah bla-- ZZZzzZZzzzzz...

By total coincidence I'm sure, both the author and the lady with CES are quite lacking in the looks department (nobody will be hiring them to work booths any time soon...) and have quite possibly never known male attention in their lives, but hey, at least they'll never have to suffer the objectifying indignity of being called a babe, right?

Just to clarify, those two pictured are the CES board member and the author of the article, not booth babes... Real booth babes ARE actually hot.

I can add it to, "smile!" ... Did you know women absolutely hate when you say that to them?

I also have been using the term creepy - a lot - for women (who are not young or hot).

Example. I was chatting with a "babe" from another company that works in the same building. She's telling me some mundane b.s. about another lady at her work.
I stopped her and said, "Wait, what does she look like?"
The female I know says, "I don't know. Mid-to-late 30's, shortish dark hair .... "

I said, "Ew, creepy."

Loved the CEO alpha dude who, when asked why the industry hires scantily-clad models to present their products, only gave as justification "it works".

Do these women know how many women voluntarily use the term "babe" as part of their handle on dating sites, Yahoo profiles, and the like?

Do a no-quote search for the words OKCupid and babe and see how many profiles come up. The first woman that came up for me called herself "Babe-Lincoln." I hope these harpies don't try to shut her down.

'babe' has strong connections to the physical beauty of a woman, i.e. beach babes and everyone thinks probably baywatch and pamela's boobies bouncing up and down in the opening sequence.

I've used babe quite often in the past.
