Seen this earlier while watching the news with my grandpa and thought of my 2nd family. He laughed when I asked him if he thought it was a good idea to have female cops, firefighters and in the military

Has anyone, anywhere, ever given a good reason WHY they want to attract more women to these roles? As far as I'm concerned, the only reason would be if they improved the departments ability to fight fires/crime/wars. But then, I'm just an evil, mysogynistic, outdated, oppressive patriarchal asshole.

I wonder if there will ever be an active campaign or a movement or anything to get more men into teaching, nursing, and HR. It's become maddening with an attack on "male-dominated" professions without any logic or understanding the reason for it.

This is a good thing. Someone needs to stay at the fire house and cook dinner while the men are saving lives and putting out fires.

Yes in some Cities typical high end blue collar work such as Police and Fire are having a hard times recruiting of there old traditional standards, or they have lowered standards so much now that Women are now able to get a sniff.

Also many Cities in the States have fallen into a trap by being cheap asses and merging their Fire and EMS units. Now anybody whom is trained and capable of EMS is capable of Fire (in theory). So you have a ton of women whom are already doing EMS and its hard to say well you can't be a Firefighter because there are greater physical requirements to them when in many Cities they are the same thing.

That is something we need to ask. You get a good paying job working as a Firefighter this is the type of work I would gladly do after EMS as I could not see myself being a cop. So we have to ask if there are just few men nowdays whom see the value in working these types of jobs?

Here is a self questioner for a Fire School in BC. fairly strait forward you would think.

i read an article couple years ago about the financial problems this causes.

main talking points were:

-building new bath facillities in firehouses for maybe 1 or 2 women who qualify

-the thousands of dollars spent trying to train female canidates who ultimatlely quit or dont make the physical requirements

-women more prone to injuries from the training and on the job work, guess who ends up paying for their rehab?

... it didnt mention sexual harrassment but in a male environment like a firehouse its hard to believe PC speak is the standard language firefighters use with each other

The CPR cert takes six hours to get online and is $20. The license is 50 CAD.

However, if you don't have 20/30 vision, you can't make the job without lasik.

I don't get it. That's why we have gender neutral terms now like "firefighter" instead of "fireman".

Guess how many firefighters died in the world trade center on 9/11 were female? None, that's how many.

No one wants to put a woman's life at risk, especially when men are so much more capable at this kind of shit.

The same goes for female cops and other assorted jobs.

The real question to ask is; What would a woman bring to the fire department as a firefighter than a man could not? There is no answer.

Perhaps they are looking for some sluts for those nights its 10 guys all stuffed in the fire station.

I know the girls who do that volunteer rescue stuff around here are sluts an get gangbanged at the fire stations when they do thier over night shift... no lie

They'll end up failing on the job and taking admin positions. Just like the military. If a slot isn't open, they'll create on, at the cost of the taxpayer.

I know gentlemen who are trying hard as fuck to get into fire fighting. The amount of dedication they have put forth is more than most people put into anything.

The sacrifices I have seen these men make make are incredible, all to become fire-fighters, and many of them still are desperately waiting. It would be more than an injustice to see women get an easier ticket than these men do simply on the premise that they are women.
