I am carrying a journal, trying to make it through the first 100 approaches.

It's actually one of the most useful things I have ever tried because you can detect patterns much easier once you start recording you experience.

One pattern that I can detect is that it always takes me too long to make my first approach.

After it's done, and I get my first rejection, everything flows like a breeze and I can kick out and spit good game, but it's this first approach that can make the difference.

I've found out that it's the rejection that kicks me into the mood too.

If I swtich venues I feel I have to restart again and gather new activation energy. Which is a bummer if you leave from a bar to a club, or from a bar to another bar.

I've tried everything, watching comedy before going out, pre-game, wingman, etc. But it's always the case, I feel that in optimizing my first approach, I can improve my chances for at least a 15-20% and that is a lot...

I know the answer should be, so, go approach more, and earlier. Force yourself to do it. But still, this being concious, can take ages to activate.

I just share this to see if it's a common pattern and if anyone has solved it in a clever way.

Before you go out think of an opener that is non-specific (you can use on any girl anywhere) and the immediate follow up. Only one opener so your brain doesn't have to many any decisions. It can be a shitty because the point of first approach is to build momentum, so target a less attractive girl. It should not be open ended and not a cheesy opinion opener like "who lies more?" In fact, boring can be better for the first approach. Roll solo so you don't get trapped in the gravitational field of your friend or ditch him immediately and pretend he is not there if you're too scared to go alone. Example: "who do you think is going to win the super bowl this weekend?" followed by "I think the ravens because x". You will magically come up with something more original on the second or third attempt.

Make it a habit to talk to everyone and anyone who you come across, girl serving you coffee, guy cleaning your table, person standing on the platform next to you everyone morning 'good morning'

simple shit, it's things that a lot of people neglect.
