Fat-shaming may curb obesity
Yes! I knew Roosh couldn't be the only scientist who is a part of this fourm.

Says bioethicist:

Quote:Daniel Callahan, a senior research scholar and president emeritus of The Hastings Center, put out a new paper this week calling for a renewed emphasis on social pressure against heavy people -- what some may call fat-shaming -- including public posters that would pose questions like this:

“If you are overweight or obese, are you pleased with the way that you look?”

"The whole point of being alpha, is doing what the fuck you want.
That's why you see real life alphas without chicks. He's doing him.

Real alphas don't tend to have game. They don't tend to care about the emotional lives of the people around them."

Genius! My faith in this country would be restored if I ever see a poster like that in public, but it's not going to happen.

inb4 "Baby! I was born this way!"

It's a sensible and realistic approach, but feminism rejects that notion and believes "Big is Beautiful!!"

It would be amazing if this happened. I think though, in major feminist Scandinavia fat shaming isnt looked down upon with such bleeding-heart vitriol. I think it is litrally just an American phenomena where fat acceptance is commonplace

Problem with "fat acceptance" is that people really don't want to look ugly. That's why gays are able to move culture forward; they were smart enough to make themselves at least look presentable.

But fatties? They LOOK like shit, and no one likes ugly and angry people.

What the "fat acceptance" movement counts on is the "you know someone like us" phenomenon.

Great idea but this won't ever happen. The cows would get upset and liberals would step in because it's mean.

I think this is very accurate. Especially with women, who don't want to be 'mean'.

As a Scandinavian, I can tell you that you're wrong. Scandinavia actually has the fastest growing rate of obese people in the world. Not the largest obese percentage, but the fastest growing one. People here think its mean to make fun of fat people.

RE: Fat-shaming may curb obesity
fat shamming is big in mexico. understand it does have a large population of fat people but generally speaking fat women here they are either, (40 plus, married young and poor, really poor and or facially ugly) the fat women here dont have the fatittude that you come to expect in 1st world countries. they have incredibly low self esteem and get called on their obesity frequently. since mexico is so un PC its common to call a person fat, it could be your friend gordo/gorda (which means fat). this fat shamming works to keep younger women with normal to pretty faces in check with their weight.
