I just bought them 1 lime 1 lemon one clove of garlic and 1 root of ginger.

Now what? Blend it with juice?

NO JUICE! Pure water. You can add pure honey if the taste makes you gag but don't do juice, water only in the blender.

RE: Flu season in Florida
It's been bad up here in the panhandle too-hospitals are filling up i heard

I had it three weeks ago-it was rough. Could barely get out of bed for four days. 102 fever. Didn't eat anything for four days -just drank gallons of gatorade. Constant change from burning up to having chills. Didn't cough much, though. Took seven days to run its course, then I was very weak and exhausted for another week. Then i got a cold due to the suppressed immune system which I am just now getting over.

Good luck, and maybe you will fight it off.

Article about this from CNN: http://www.cnn.com/2013/01/09/health/us-...?hpt=hp_t1

Quote: The flu has been spreading fiercely across the United States, with more than half of states reporting widespread activity. The season has started earlier, and cases are more severe than last year, health officials say.

RE: Flu season in Florida
Take supplements zinc, and vitamin C/multi vitamin(both essential for buidling a strong immune system).

Try this fruit shake recipe(make sure the fruits are fresh and organic):

6 carrots chopped into ¼" pieces
1 apple chopped into ¼" pieces
2 stalks of celery chopped into ¼" pieces
handful of parsley
2 cloves of garlic

Also, drink a lot of water(add a little salt in the water, it kill bateria) and keep hydrated, try to drink 7 glasses of water per day, this is extremely important.

Also, Sleep atleast 8+ hours a day, sleep depreivation is detramental to the healing process, and stretch daily to get the blood flowing, excercise has been proven to help aid sickness.

Good luck and get well soon, also may your friend RIP, it is never good to see that.

I always think that if your youngish and healthy it won't kill you. The flu might kick your ass but won't body you unless you have done underlying stuff you do/don't know about.

I remember having that H1N1 shit and my bottling getting a body slam in a bed if rusty nails. It was hell but I haven't had the flu since. Your body gets stronger with each hit. Hopefully this round makes you stronger El Mech.

Congaplex, something my Grandmother put me on to that helps stimmulate the immune system. Basically at the moment you start feeling like you are becoming sick, take three with every meal for a day or so. Stops a cold in its tracks. Haven't tested it after already becoming sick, but I imagine it will cut down the time that you feel like shit.

Or Juice it?

Why don't you peel the citrus fruits?

Does this taste terrible?

Yes you have to blend it. I am not sure why you are not supposed to peel the citrus fruits, it's an old West Indian recipe and I didn't ask questions. It won't taste too pleasant but you can throw in honey if you are bothered by the rank taste. I've cured everyone with that drink.

Alright Moma. So this past week I have been bragging how I haven't been sick all year - and wouldn't you know it I started to feel something coming on tonight. It is not the flu, but my eyes are dry, I am tired, and I feel a tickle in my lungs. I am starting to hack up stuff - a chest cold is coming on. So after work I left and bought the ingredients.

My eyes were clearly larger than my stomach - I made too much.

And damn, this shit is not fun to drink. It's like a warm slushy that's hot, but if it works, you are a prince. I'll keep you guys updated.

I am still working on that first pint glass. As you can see I have a lot left for later if need be.

They don't say "you have caught a hot." It is called a cold for a reason.

It was not easy choking it down. I almost vomited and it took me 30 minutes. I choked down one pint glass, but I had to dilute it because I made it too thick. I had to scoop it with a spoon at first before I diluted it. I am about to choke down one more pint glass then I am off to bed.

I made way too much of this stuff. So far I have taken 3,000-4,000mg of vitamin C, this shit, and some green tea with Echinacea. I hope it works. Oh, and the honey jar I put in the pic was empty, so no help there.

I’d rather be far right, than far wrong!

ACV?

The virus likes to linger on your skin and in your throat in order to reinfect you, this can sometimes prolong the illness.

To get rid of the viruses that are clinging to your skin - use an old school alcohol rub down. You just take surgical spirits and rub it all over yourself. Your arms and your face especially. Just don't get it in your eyes. It used to be done routinely in the pre-antibiotic era as a way of preventing patients from constantly re-infecting themselves with their own bugs. I tried it the last time I had the flu, it's also somewhat revivifying and helps with the aching feeling.

You can get a disinfectant throat spray to kill the bastards hiding in your throat.

That said, there many many suggested treatments for flu. I will share a piece of advice one of my mentors gave at medical school:
"Our ability to treat a disease is inversely proportional to how many treatments are available for it. If there is a long list of treatments for a particular illness, it's usually because none of them work."
