I find this interesting, the phenomenon of younger guys marrying older women who were famous teen idols when the guys were in their pubescent years.

Most famous example: Ashton Kutcher (born 1978) and Demi Moore (born 1962).

Less famous example: indie filmmaker Noah Baumbach (born 1969) and Jennifer Jason Leigh (born 1962).

According to Wikipedia, Leigh filed for divorce from Baumbach in late 2010, only months after giving birth to their first child. They married in 2005.

I wonder what is going on in these relationships. Is it just pure, old-fashioned love? Is the man fulfilling some sort of fantasy from his teen years? Is the idea of making love to a woman you admired on screen decades ago that entrancing? Or is it a careerist move? After all, everyone knows who Jennifer Jason Leigh is, perhaps attaching himself to her was a savvy professional gambit for an indie filmmaker.

Having female idols is beta enough already.

Well there may be some women who's looks and acting you love to watch there is no shame, but one has to be really living in phantasy to don't realise that they all have their hamsters in reall life and are not their screen personas. (Even trough many women are shameless bitches even on screen and still manage to be worshipped despite or aybe even because of that.)

She might be one of those women that reject all of the Hollywood beauty ideal bullshit, and purposely not try look glamourous. Jennifer Jason Leigh basically peaked physically in "Fast Times at Ridgemont High." Even then she wasn't exactly hot - she was young, so her body was decent. At the same time, look at Phoebe Cates' body in that movie. Judge Reinhold wasn't the only dude jerking off to that vision of her getting out of the pool!
