Barber Shop Conversation About CT Shooting Ends In Shots Fired
http://www.stltoday.com/news/local/crime...bc114.html
Quote:A barbershop patron accused of firing three times at another customer discussing the Connecticut school shooting has been charged with three felonies.
Lester Davis, 57, of the 400 block of Highland Meadows Place, is facing charges of first-degree assault, armed criminal action and unlawful possession of a weapon.
According to police, Davis was at the All Cuts Barber Shop, 102 West Pearce Boulevard, about 11:30 a.m. Tuesday with five other people.
One of the patrons was discussing last week’s shooting at Sandy Hook Elementary School in Newtown and commented that the incident “makes me want to murder the suspect,” police said.
For unknown reasons, Davis took the comment as a threat and asked, “You want to murder me?” Davis then walked out to his Volkswagen sedan, retrieved a loaded Smith & Wesson 9 mm pistol and fired three times in the customer’s direction, police said.
Davis said, “I’ll let you slide,” walked out of the barbershop and drove off in his car, police said.
He later turned himself in to police.
According to court records, Davis is a felon, convicted of second-degree homicide and unlawful possession of a weapon in Middlesex County, N.J., in 1975. Records further state he has been involved in numerous verbal altercations with neighbors, resulting in an order of protection being issued against him.
He told police that the gun he used belongs to his wife.
Bail in Davis’ case is set at $400,000 cash only.

Know your enemy and know yourself, find naught in fear for 100 battles. Know yourself but not your enemy, find level of loss and victory. Know thy enemy but not yourself, wallow in defeat every time.

But otherwise, this dimension has been studiously ignored by the media. Of course, if the media acknowledged that the guns were stored improperly, that would detract from their argument for more gun control. Speaking from personal experience, almost anyone who is pro gun control and does not own a gun is a damn retard when it comes to discussing guns - they're so emotionally repulsed by them that they can't discuss them maturely; all they can muster is 'get rid of them!' This would be like a bitter cyclist seeing a senile old guy run people over, and then declaring that private car ownership should be abandoned.
They're only harming themselves - if they put some of their energy into making gun ownership more secure, instead of just opposing guns completely, they might be more effective in reducing disasters like these. Instead, when the gun opponents lose, they lose influence over how guns are used.

Is 'The Big Lebowski' the reason you gave yourself "thedude" username? If so you and I must have similar tastes in movies, Lebowski and Fear & Loathing are both in my all-time top 10, if not top 5.
yep. Lebowski, Fear & Loathing, Easy Rider, Trainspotting, Endless Summer, The Graduate, Clockwork Orange, Harold and Maude....pretty much any counter-culture movie.
Not to derail, but fuck, was just thinking about Easy Rider. That's one of those movies that's good to watch once a year or so. If you've never seen it you need to check it out asap.
Peter Fonda, Dennis Hopper, and Jack Nicholson getting drunk and getting high...what's not to like?
"...so I gave her an STD, and she STILL wanted to bang me."
