Scarlett Johansson hacker sentenced to 10 years?

Curious to hear others thoughts on this. For comparison, the average rape sentence is 8 years (source - http://www.guardian.co.uk/society/2011/m...ce-figures)

This guy really got hammered by the justice system.

Ask yourself if this guy had hacked your phone would he have received 10 years.

His "hacking", by the way, really was nothing more than amateur con artist tactics and password guessing.

I fail to see how this is in any way a reasonable sentence for the crime of discovering 100% consensual nude pictures of someone famous.

I sense there's little public sympathy for hackers and computer-based crooks like the founder of Mega Upload. Might it be that the criminal justice system and society in general is harsher on beta computer nerds?

I can see a $500 fine or 30 days community service. Ridiculous.
