Spinster Tries OK Cupid
In this article, a 30 something woman tries out online dating for the first time. Lots of Hamster and Cat lady to be found.

Diary

Here's her experience after she filled out her profile.

Quote:I joined OK Cupid at the age of 30, in late November 2011, with the pseudonym ‘viewfromspace’. When the time came to write the ‘About’ section of my profile, I quoted Didion’s passage, then added: ‘But now we have internet dating. New faces!’ The Didion bit sounded unpleasant, so I replaced it with a more optimistic statement, about internet dating restoring the city’s possibilities to a life that had become stagnant between work, subway and apartment. Then that sounded depressing, so I finally wrote: ‘I like watching nature documentaries and eating pastries.’ From then on I was flooded with suggestions of YouTube videos of endangered species and recommendations for pain au chocolat.

Don't worry about game techniques becoming less effective because the masses know about them. Thirsty simps still take women at their word, even ones who've been around the block.

I understand her frustration though. It's the same feeling I get when I see a bunch of chubby girls entering a fast food joint.

Quote:One occurrence in both online and real-life dating was an inexplicable talent on my part for attracting vegetarians. I am not a vegetarian.

Where have all the good men gone? Only betas (vegetarians) are interested in her.

Quote: It’s not that women are averse to the possibility of a casual encounter (I would have been very happy had the right guy appeared), but they need some sort of alibi before they go looking.

That's accurate. Surprising.

Quote: I also signed up to Match, but OK Cupid was the one I favoured, mostly because I got such constant and overwhelming attention from men there. The square-jawed bankers who reigned over Match, with their pictures of scuba diving in Bali and skiing in Aspen, paid me so little attention it made me feel sorry for myself. The low point came when I sent a digital wink to a man whose profile read, ‘I have a dimple on my chin,’ and included photos of him playing rugby and standing bare-chested on a deep-sea fishing vessel holding a mahi-mahi the size of a tricycle. He didn’t respond to my wink.

She's self aware enough to know that she's in it for the attention more than anything. But life's sad for her. A man who's probably not a vegetarian didn't respond to a wink. She clicked an icon and the lack of a response to it upset her.

She has no idea about what it takes to be a man. I bet she didn't reply to a lot of those dudes who obediently sent her youtube clips.

Here's the writer:

Quote:Emily Witt lives in New York. She is working on a book about female sexuality.

She's the one without the mustache. She's never getting married.

In her defense, just not being fat is such an enormous premium on female value nowadays that I have no doubt that she will eventually find a willing Beta. It only depends on her criteria and whether she will "settle", but candidates are aplenty!

ROFLMAO at her being so butthurt over her wink not being returned.

She looks aiight for her age.

She'll be able to go out with a couple of Alphas. Of course they won't give her anything more than the Pump 'n Dump treatment.

Funny how the ones always writing about "female sexuality" are never in lasting/healthy relationships.

Most women online think a wink is enough. Most won't initiate at all - they're there to sit back and wait for the attention. Just like off-line, they believe that it's a man's job to approach them, and they don't ever want to appear desperate, even though they're supposedly independent, strong women. She probably felt that wink was a major undertaking. She probably said to herself, "I've done my part, now the rest is on YOU."

All told, she is surprisingly honest. She still needs to be more aggressive, because she's not hot enough to sit back and expect to be lavished with attention.

Is she wearing a ring on her wedding finger in this photo?

"Alpha children wear grey. They work much harder than we do, because they're so frightfully clever. I'm awfully glad I'm a Beta, because I don't work so hard. And then we are much better than the Gammas and Deltas. Gammas are stupid. They all wear green, and Delta children wear khaki. Oh no, I don't want to play with Delta children. And Epsilons are still worse. They're too stupid to be able to read or write. Besides they wear black, which is such a beastly color. I'm so glad I'm a Beta."

Is it really necessary to write a mini novel on her stupid experience? Women can't ever just get straight to the point. Can someone sum it up?

It's hilarious that she admits women like her need an alibi to have sex the same night she meets a guy.

What the devil? Does she realize she's admitting that casual sex is a crime?

I mean, if you feel that way either you should be a social conservative *gasp!* or an unabashed criminal, the kind that tells off Detective Stabler on L&O:SVU.

Haha. That's how it is. They get used to their looks doing all of the leg work when they were younger and now that theyve faded theyre stuck not actually knowing what to do or how to act right.

RE: Spinster Tries OK Cupid
That was a straight-up great article. She's had the best of the blue pill, and only got bored of it.

Quote:Internet dating alerted me to the fact that our notions of human behaviour and achievement, expressed in the agglomerative text of hundreds of internet dating profiles, are all much the same and therefore boring and not a good way to attract other people. The body, I also learned, is not a secondary entity. The mind contains very few truths that the body withholds. There is little of import in an encounter between two bodies that would fail to be revealed rather quickly. Until the bodies are introduced, seduction is only provisional.
In the above quote, replace "mind" with "hamster" and "body" with "tingle." This is a woman on the threshold of self-awareness.

She's cute enough for 30, but I don't think I could be with any woman who would use the words "agglomerative" and "Pynchonian" in a puff piece, quotes obscure New York essayists in a dating profile, and whose mission in life seems to be to prove how smart and cultured she is.

Is there any man out there, anywhere, who is impressed by that kind of thing?

So now she knows what 95% of the men who use online dating feel like. She's cute but needs to pull her head out of her ass.

I am so sick of zero ass. Someone once described an Asian girl as having a negative ass. My current primary has negative ass. I LOVE a good ass - sick of it!

That first pic where she "looked good for 30", she really just looks like she's 24 in that pic. Could you imagine? A woman posting a pic of when she was younger? Wow. Just Wow.

It would help with the narrative that she is a high-value women who failed to attract attention from men who offer the same level of value.

Her article would be a lot less precious if it turned out that she was just an old hag with a face for radio.

It just isn't as much fun to bitch "Where have all the good men gone?" without the essential "highly desirable woman" to make a strong case for the argument that a woman's failure to find love being totally not her fault and clearly rooted in a lack of worthwhile men to frantically pursue her.

Usually, these claims work best when anonymous female victims are described (attractive, success), because if we were to try to advance the narrative with real women, it might be necessary to resort to the use of photographs from the years where they might actually have had a chance at landing a man of acceptable appearance, social establishment and financial standing.

It's not like feminists have ever let the truth stand in the way of a victim complex.

Hell, Jane Austen was already peddling this trash hundreds of years ago. She wrote stupid story after stupid story committed to the premise that it doesn't matter how bad a woman f***s up, she still deserves and will receive a desirable romantic conclusion.

She had to write under a pen name, because back then men had balls and already knew that anything a woman would write would be garbage anyway. The disease of her story themes still affect women today. Naturally, she never married. Dumb bitch.

Today, in light of all the single "attractive, successful" women all about, there really is only one retort.

"THERE MUST BE A LACK OF DESIRABLE MEN WHO HAVE GOTTEN THEIR ACT TOGETHER, STOPPED PLAYING VIDEO GAMES, MADE MILLIONS ON THE STOCK MARKET, DEVELOPED HOLLYWOOD ACTOR QUALITY LOOKS, AND A PERSONALITY TO SUIT!"

I'm the King of Beijing!

My gran would've been a hundred this past week had she not pass 5 years ago and i know for a fact that she'd not be the same rustic, reliable, pragmatic and logical person that i adore if she grew up in these times.
