The cute friend glances for a sec at the guy and gets bored, and resumes talking to the guy.

These ugly girls don't usually get attention from attractive men, so when they do, they don't care about anything besides looks.

It's not all ugly girls, but a certain strain of high libido, attention whore but attention starved, and desperate for validation from a high status man.

The reason we never hear anything from 'attractive feminists' (and they do exist...or at least attractive girls who will say 'I'm a feminist', though that said, I've never seen an attractive feminist that was prominent in the movement, locally or nationally) is because instead of spending nights at home, with a tub of Ben and Jerry's, her vibrator and her six cats, they're out there in the world, getting fucked by high-value men and fending off a few Russian novels worth of bad game every day.

I have talked about this before (it should be somewhere way back there, in the lounge) and like you, I think its validation. Not only do they desire validation, but it also seems that the uglier the girl, the more vociferously she'll acknowledge (and demand) a 'hot' guy.

Pretty girls don't do this because despite all we hear about some sort of self-esteem crisis among young women, they understand the power that they wield.

Ugly girl: OMG Look at how HAWT that guy is! IWANTIT IWANTIT!
Pretty girl: Whatever, if I want him I'll go and talk to him.

It's really no different from guys with no game who go gaga and get oneitis over the first pretty girl that gives him attention.
