Can anyone recommend a good cheap digital camera?
I figure since I am starting a new life, having joined RVF and moved to Tampa, FL, I can start building a stock of memories by photo capturing my "moments that take my breath away."

I am thinking fifty bucks max. I don't want anything special at all, just something to point and shoot. Back in the day I bought a 5.0mp for like 200 bucks. I am sure they are much cheaper now.

How old are you?

I'm the only person I know under 40 who doesn't have a smart phone. I'm out and about and bust out my boulder flip phone and I catch people looking hahahaha

I wouldn't advise getting a camera alone, try saving some money and buy yourself a smartphone with Android.

Then, get these programs: "HDR Camera +" and "AfterFocus Pro"

With HDR camera you can capture very colorful daylight photos, and then you use AfterFocus to get important part into focus, giving you a high quality DSLR like photo when you get a feel of space in photos. They both take about 10 mins of experimenting before you figure out how to use them perfectly.

Also, chicks dig professional looking photos, all the filters and colors make them look better. My current gf was blown away on the first date when I showed her how our pictures look with my camera. Instant attraction builder.

Here is the comparison between "normal" image I just took from my balcony and HDR focused one with a vintage filter applied. It took me like a minute to turn upper one into the bottom one.

I'm 29.

I actually get laughed at when I pull out my phone to add a number. I never really was into smartphones, apps, etc.

I'm a simple man-call and text.

Yeah, I figured the smartphone would be the way to go, but I have no desire to hand over 200 bucks and two years worth of guaranteed income to no company, no siree Bob.

I see there is a way to get a smart phone and cheap monthly plan.

I probably will get over my luddite tendencies soon. I am with Metro PCS and can probably score a decent smartphone for cheap on Craigslist.

I have had good luck with the Kodak 'easy share' cameras. Decently small, good picture taking, re-chargeable battery.

First one I got for I think $75 off of Amazon and just bought another as a Xmas present for $95.

Keep an eye on amazon as the prices fluctuate.

RE: Can anyone recommend a good cheap digital camera?
As new digital camera models come out, the prices of some great, small, pocket-size cameras drop. I've never been big about taking pictures with my phone, so I like cameras. I use a Nikon Coolpix S70 (big screen on the back, touch screen). I use a larger camera with more zoom and flash to do the tourist thing, but the other is a pocket-size that I can roll with.
