Haha just saying. I saw this on ESPN last night. Amazing for sure. But if he would have hit like 75% of his shots to go along with all those points I think I'd be more impressed.

That college, Grinnell, has led the nation in scoring for like 17 of the last 19 seasons. Their coach always has a similar gameplan. They don't play D. Ever. Lots of points, just not super special when you take 70 shots from 3 point land alone.

Grinnell College regularly makes a mockery of Basketball.
Records should never be planned or contrived, especially against weak opponents.

I'd love to watch them get blown out by a real team.

Of course his shooting percentage is relevant. This is a Div. III school and the coach gave the kid the green light to chuck as much as he wanted. Most talented NCAA players could score that many points if they could shoot as much as they wanted and the other team made no attempt to adjust.

If you're taking mostly three-pointers, anything over 40% is outstanding. He shot 38% from beyond the arc, so that's really not that bad considering his arm HAD to be tired from all that shooting. Over the course of a whole season, only big men that shoot from mostly near the basket end up with shooting percentages well over 50%. Most smaller players, who shoot from a variety of distances usually end up shooting in the low 50s and below. Players like Ray Allen, who takes a lot of three-pointers but still end up with a shooting percentage in the high 40s are considered outstanding shooters.
