Their song "Who's That Lady" was the anthem of male longing at my high school in the 70's and was always being played in the background, and there is an instrumental section that starts at 2:21 in the song that perfectly captures the rhythm and music of a girl walking down the street. You listen to it and you can see the woman of your choice pretending she doesn't know she is being watched, adding that extra bounce to her step as she walks down the street.





One of the best 70's funk bands of all. Everything is so heavy today, and listening to the Isleys can deliver you to upbeat, light, fun music even when it addresses tough topics.

I had to look it up and can't believe you can still see them in concert.

Reminds me of an album I listened to a lot of back in the day. I found the cd at some backyard sale for a couple of bucks.

Graham Central Station played a free concert at lunch at my high school. We didn't know how lucky we were back then. Larry Graham is one of the few people I am actually kind of jealous of. What a life, from Woodstock with Sly to Soul Train in the 70's, to Adult ballad hit singer in the 80's, to Prince's mentor, and still touring today, nearing 70 and still looking like he is in his 50's. What a life! I get no more joy than tracking down recent Larry Graham videos. Here he is playing at Bonnaroo. Here he is sitting in with Prince. Here he is with other music legends playing in the UK. Here he is onstage with about 30 Danish electric bass students who al look thrilled to death, and then he lets each one have a solo. He is the Zelig of music.

What a great ambassador for music and life in general, and you can still go see him in concert.

The joy he transmits to the audience, the way he connects with them, goes beyond the music, and at the end, in true former 60's hippie fashion, he invites audience members up onstage to dance out the encore. This guy is a gift to the world that transcends music.

A few years ago, one of my favorite bands was Thrice. I loved how they were an intelligent alternative band with Christian thought incorporated into their lyrics.

Unfortunately, today their frontman Dustin Kensrue is completely cucked, as a cursory review of his Twitter reveals. Like this tweet where he toots the Muh White Nationalist Boogeyman horn about racist statements made by an individual named "Armando Delgado Gonzalez." Truly there has never been a more representative voice for White People.

I thought he was just engaging in bleeding-heart McChristianity antics, but a visit to the Genius page for Thrice's most recent album reveals it's even worse:

"Lyrically, the album reflects Dustin Kensrue’s philosophical and theological shift away from certain conservative biblical themes that so often characterized his previous lyrics, and his shift towards theological universalism. He has stated that he no longer believes in biblical inerrancy or the Reformed theological system."

Every single time. Reminds me of Derek Webb, who was a fine Christian songwriter in the late 90s with Caedmon's Call, who also cucked in the constant pursuit of approval from All The Right People.

Especially their performance of Magic Mind at 9:57.





I saw a similar performance that year in Oakland.

It is one of the most amazing theatrical experiences I have ever had.
