It's that simple, if you want to risk being dangerously and simply wrong.

If you'd worked much in health care, or the criminal justice system, you would have seen people who have serious problems but think "they don't need meds" go fully off their rockers and seriously injure themselves or others -- because they listened to an amateur who didn't know what they were talking about. There are some MH problems like bipolar or schizophrenia where drugs can help mean a decent life, no drugs can mean dead in a ditch.

True most mental health people however, are definitely not into evo-psych which obviously selects for dominant men. Ironically, sometimes even ones who don't know what they're talking about!
