No big surprises here except maybe Philippines coming in at #8. Scandinavian countries all make the top worst, so that makes sense.

This week, the World Economic Forum (WEF) released its 2012 report analyzing gender inequality throughout the world, The Global Gender Gap Report 2012.

The report highlighted the changing nature of gender relations throughout some of the world's most diverse countries. But primarily, it featured the latest update of the Global Gender Gap Index Introduced by the WEF in 2006, the index is a "framework for capturing the magnitude and scope of gender-based disparities and tracking their progress." The ranking metric is made up of four sub-categories: economic, political, education and health-based criteria.
Each of the 135 countries analyzed received a sub-score in all of the four categories on a 0-1 scale, and then an overall score based on the four sub-scores.

The also have a list of "Fastest Growing Cities in the World".

None of them are in the "Least Sexist Countries in the World."

Almost all these were in the Anglosphere. This is what confuses me. Is the studying saying these countries have the worst gender disparity? Or ugliest women?

Yeah I was just trying to figure out the basis of the study...apparently the author titled it wrong and changed it. It now reads "least sexist" countries. Least sexist = least sexy?

Two things:

1) This is a measure of least sexist, not least sexiest, although the two clearly seem to be correlated.

2) The first three of four scores used in the measurement are broadly similar, so all this study is really measuring is "Political Empowerment," i.e. it's just a ranking of how many women are involved in politics.

Useless study and rankings, WEF.

If we are talking about "least sexy", and discounting Muslim countries where you can't really see what they look like, then India is definitely up there. I think women go out of their way to look unattractive.

no desire to go there i heard its as bad or worse than guatemala. actually i only went to guatemala for 2 days on a visa run because i live in mexico and had to leave the country. i heard the women in guatemala were bad but until i went i had no idea.

I understood it to mean on a marketable scale. These countries are not sexy because they are stable, boring and wealthy..... or just they are plain dangerous.

Yeah the study was initially titled incorrectly by the author and seems to be flawed anyway, but it is interesting to see that by these measures, countries with lowest sexist rating are all anglosphere and lots of them are places where we'd find the women undesirable.

Philippina girls are the bread winners in the Philippines. The men don't do much. So that doesn't surprise me.

agreed with india lol, middle east doesnt have too many lookers either(isrealis are pretty though but not femine), wierd thing is the prettiests girls in those regions look the most european lol
least sexy countrys should basically be filled with the 3rd world nations

Yep. That entire country, aside from the very upper class (European-blooded) rates a 2/10 Would Not Hit.

This survey appears to have nothing to do with SEXY. They are comparing what countries are the least sexist, in otherwords where women have the opportunity to get ahead at men's expense. Look at what they are looking at:
Economic and Participation Opportunity
Educational Attainment
Health and Survival
Political Empowerment
This is where women have lots of opportunities and nothing to do w/ SEXY. The fact that women in these countries are not SEXY is because they have opportunties so don't need men. So why look SEXY!
