lol, my gun left my holster 2 times a year , it was called mandatory firing range. We pay for our own equipment so of course nothing is shiny, cops are cheap ,lol. Americans in general make more eye contact. so now we trust lawyers? Life would be much better without blood sucking lawyers. i had a lawyer basically tell me to lie to make a car accident look worst than it was.
Not sure, we have 35k cops in NYPD, i think no more than 6-8 cops fire guns per year in line of duty , VERY low % out of 35k. Maybe someone has been watching to many hollywood movies?. However, our criminal class is more aggressive than Canada i assume with the easy to get gun laws. I thin k anyone can buy guns,assault rifles in Vermont. Then bring them anywhere. A cops job is to watch and observe , and we do not have the spying cameras that are used in Europe. 90% of budget goes to manpower not equipment, heck ,we still use old typewriters ,lol.
This shouldn't be combined to small town , suburban police. They actually have more power and they basically serve the town they work for. We do not have national police. What that means is in a small upper-class town , the citizens do not want any outsiders , including minorities, they can make sure their police comply with that wish. Small town cops are like rent a cops in a way because they serve a small minority. Heck, small town cops will even BUST large city cops for nonsense if they are in their towns.
As for corruption. Statistically there are more dishonest corrupt teachers ,car mechanics, and accountants/lawyers. Cops are going to always be headline news when they do something, while its not news worthy when civilians do something wrong. Exception is teachers and lately they seem to always be in the news. One would have to think teachers are the most corrupt people from the amount of news coverage they have gotten recently. But thats the problem we mostly get our news from corrupt, self invested news media. i personally have been at scenes where what the media reported was 180 degrees off. Its either lieing to get more readership or journalists have gotten dumb and lazy. I think it might be the latter.
in any case I do not care if you all hate me or my blue brothers(i actually do not speak to cops since i been retired,THEY ARE BORING). I will continue to enjoy my life long 5k month fully taxpayer paid for pension and medical/dental benefits .

USA manufacturers have complained about their inability to compete with private prisons who have laborers working for a few dollars a day. to me with unclear economic solutions the USA will continue to have more crime and by extension more prisoners.

dude what are you talking about? in the USA if your born poor and white good luck getting any breaks. meanwhile if you are any type of minority even if you are born into a wealthy family colleges, employers, government contracts are looking to have you, promote you. i personally have been passed by promotions for more unqualified minorities/females. being a white male in the USA is not a privilege and it certainly doesnt make getting into colleges or climbing the corporate ladder easier.

Right, so then even more important that everyone should have access to free/subsidized education and healthcare and a way to get to work thanks to a well developed public transport system, if you can't afford a car to get to work, just like in Europe and Canada. people do have access to free healthcare if your poor in the US also govt pays for people to go to school through high school. you can join the military for free college. also we have cheap community colleges for first 2 yrs then transfer to a state university its not that expensive. these 40k a year private colleges are something people without parents paying for it should never go to. its not worth it. you must not be from the US because public transportation isnt viable in much of the country here. cars arent that expensive you can get a decent car for 5-6K but if your poor you can always drive a shit box for under 1K.

Please name me a company that will hire "minorities" over white people? It doesn't happen my friend, affirmative action is put in place for so called "minorities" to keep quiet but yet it is not practiced.
As you rightly said this program seems to help females but does nothing for qualified black males like myself.

Also you talk about people joining the Military, no dis-respect to some of the forum members who are in the Military. For me there is no way I am gonna fight some war so that some scumbag company like Haliburton makes another gazillion dollars.

They did a study. The average POOR in USA is better off then most places. They own there own home, which is larger than msot Euro homes and they own 2 cars. They als omore likely to own 2 or more televisions and game consoles. I do not have a home or car i nNYC so i guess i am lower than poor .
Poor can get tuition assistance also. NYS public colleges cost like 4k a year. Alot of state schools are cheap. Means a 4 yr degree can cost 20k, technically be paid of in 1 year. Poor have food stamps that = the equivalence of what me and my wife spend o n food. Section 8 is closed in most palces right now but the program basically requires people pay 30% of income for apt and govt picks up the rest .if you qualify and sign up ,eventually you will get it. So basically someone on section 8 can have more disposable income than a middle class worker in NYC because in NYC workers often pay 50% or more of income in rent. Poor also eve n get free cell phones and minutes now as well as low cost internet if they have children. i am telling you it once came out in a report that poor people made the = of over 40k in benefits in NYC. Thats actually close to the avg salary so it makes me wonder why more people do not quit jobs. Half the Russian immigrants in my buildign are on section 8, food stamps, etc. they also drive BMW'S and wear fur coats. My Ukrainian wife even over hears neighbors talking about how they purposely reduce work hours to keep benefits etc.
Obama even opened the flood gates more. The new medicaid law actually gives benefits to millionaires. its not asset tested anymore. Basically you can have loads of money i n the bank and as long as your income is low you can get free medical. The middleclass is the biggest sufferers in USA. We actually work and feel the dollar squeeze .Rich get richer , poor reach closer t o middle income level in benefits without working.
That being the case i would rather live here than anywhere else because:
1. cheap, i like that i can on sale get a 42 " flat screen for 400 bucks that cost 800 in europe.Houses cost under 100k in florida,las vegas and even under 50k in the rust belt.
2. We have a gas revolution and have resources for over 100 years and probably more. we don't need to deal with putin like you do for energy.
3. water is a resource and if you include the great lakes we own about 1/3 of the worlds fresh water and its not for sale . Actually federal gov't has no control of it , it belongs to bordering cities.
4. we have the CDC to help fight zombie plaques before they hatch.(am i shot for saying that?)
5. Italian food tastes better in NYC than in Italy. Nothing beats Brooklyn pizza.
6 shitty chains like Apple-bees tastes better than most countries actually and bigger portions.
7. where else can you walk into a store and buy guns, ammo, food, prescription drugs, diapers and video games in the same store.
8. make 5k a month and pay only 10% in taxes. poor here also keep more cash because of lower taxes.
9. we actually are 1 country , with 50 separate state gov'ts with separate laws but bonded together. if you hate local law in one state you can move t o another.
10. 50 states , people basically get along and help each other, while in Euro, older generation anyway, do not even like the other countries.
11. Euro elitist ARE worst than american ones in some countries like France. In NYC I can eat a hot dog in Papaya king 2 feet from Mayor Bloomberg(before he was mayor he went there often) and jennifer Lopez is 3 feet away ,both will say hello and even open to conversation if you are normal(not paparazzi). Does your queen do that?
12. People do not get crushed or beaten to death at sporting events and we wave flags for more important things than just sporting events.
13. lets not even talk about Euro affairs. i did a year in Kosovo after that mess restoring order. Euro couldn't even stop the fight in their own backyard and asked , begged American involvement. Serbs gave up pretty fast after we taught them how to see GOD.

in the US for poor kids medical we have CHIPS. for poor adults we have MEDICAID, and for all seniors even rich we have MEDICARE. the US is the most lawsuit crazy country in the world. companies are afraid of being seen as racist and sued so they over compensate and are more inclinded to hire minorities and women to avoid being sued for hiring/promotion discrimination.

Another thing that I really admire about the stereotypical American society is its attitude towards failure. While in Europe, or at least in Germany, failure is perceived as something utterly negative and as something you ought to avoid at all cost, I have the notion, correct me if Im wrong, that in the US, failure is seen as a natural part of (business) life. Its not the failure that matters most, but getting back up afterwards.

yep, in Europe people are rather happy with a mediocre life if they get to keep their "safe" job. That's pretty much the only thing I miss in Europe that they have in the US. When I started my business, American friends were rather "go ahead, if you fail, you'll get back up" while my european friends were rather "OMG Are you nuts? Why'd you want to leave a secure job!"

Besides that, European women are by far the best on the planet.
