The "gender neutral bathroom" described in the article sounds pretty much like what I call a "bathroom." It's a room with a single toilet and a door that shuts and locks.

There's a bar in London with co-ed bathrooms. It's a great place to chat up girls, in the line outside. The main downside is that you have to wait so fucking long since a girl typically takes 5 minutes in there vs. a guy's 30 seconds.

There is an afterhours club that I went to a few years ago in Montreal called Circus with a co-ed bathroom.

Roosh may want to check out on his upcoming trip there.

Security is tight though. Metal detector, pat down and they take your ID and hold it up to the security camera so they know who you are in case shit goes down.

Am I the only one who doesn't see how tolerating, and even making accommodations for, transgenders is going to lead to downfall of western civilization? Maybe I'm just too much of a libertarian, but that shit doesn't bother me one bit.

Agree. Considering all the shit people who have been born with ?? genitalia, or genitalia that does not match how the brain developed during the pregnancy have received until very recently, I call this civilization. It's not many people, though. Order of 0.1%? Less?

I guess what posters here are reacting to are the hordes of people who are born with perfectly well functioning male or female genitalia and matching brain development who claim cash prizes and attention for their "queer pansexual transgenderness". That IS downfall of civilization.

Agreed. I don't understand a lot of the hate on here for these people. I feel bad for them, as they're obviously fucked in the head and I'm sure if they could choose to be normal they would.

In fact, these people actually undermine feminist arguments that gender and everything that goes along with it is "socially constructed". If a little boy is raised and "conditioned" (as idiot feminists like to say) like a boy but still feels like a girl inside and he is interested in girl things and eventually wants to become a woman, it's pretty obvious that gender is biological and hard-wired. Something simply got mixed-up when the child was developing inside the mother.

I'm sure they will never admit it, but I imagine many feminists secretly hate trans people because of this even though they claim they fight for the rights of everyone.

Basically I take issue with two things.

First, and most importantly, is when gender studies types try to apply their theories about sexual relations and attraction to everyone else. Most often this takes the form of standard blank slate dogma and emasculation but not always. In this example, it would be excessive if people were spending millions of dollars to rip out urinals in large public restrooms and forcing all men and women to use the same toilets, simply to accommodate one intersex person who would have been just fine using the men's room. But as I implied in my earlier post, I think the steps described in the article are reasonable.

Second, and this is much less important, is when gender-theory trolls pipe up obnoxiously when a gender-specific topic comes up. Someone asking Professor Mentu whether "Man" his "University of Man" includes intersex or transgender people, for example. Who fucking cares? Are there any actual transgender people who want to know that? Probably not. Cross that bridge when you come to it, stop trying to show off your useless education.

I don't take issue with legitimate concerns, or with any doctor, scientist, or academic who is truly interested in the subject and genuinely wants to help.

It's funny that you assume we all have.

I've been given stank looks when I come out and chicks are waiting (again, one-door-one-lock situations). It makes the experience retroactively sweeter. I leave the toilet seat up on purpose.

One time, a girl said, "That's a women's bathroom, you know," with serious tonal attitude.

I said, "I'm transgender. Show some respect, sister" without breaking stride in my walk. She made some snickering-like noise, but I couldn't decode it. I'm not even making that up.

I used one in Denmark. The toilets were single occupancy, and were in a separate, small 'room.' But they adjoined to a common washroom.

It just felt really creepy. The girls, American girls, didn't act any differently - they hogged the mirrors, primping themselves for minutes. Every time I was in there, I just wanted to get the fuck out, as soon as possible. It just felt like you were standing in a girl's bathroom, as a peeping Tom. Sort of like a perv version of showing up at a bridal shower. I normally don't give a shit about how girls feel, and even revel in making them feel awkward a la Tuth's post above. But my one experience of a gender neutral bathroom weirded me out.

Fuck that. Go into the "womyn"s bathroom and diarrhea all over so that public bathrooms for women are dismantled. I think it would be cool if women had to hold in their excrement until they got home. This would keep them closer to their houses and make them less likely to stray.

The biggest issue I can see is now there won't be lines to the "women's bathroom" because women are going to be using all the toilets. Now if they got rid of all the urinals, there would be a problem.

Since all bathrooms have a sink, pissing in the sink is a good substitute for a urinal. I don't generally wash my hands anyway.

I don't hate the transgendered people; I hate how society is furiously normalizing it, and other things, and treating those who have a dissenting opinion as a monster or a bigot.

Here's the dark side of equal rights that people (read: Feminists) want to avoid: being equal means that in addition to having equal rights, you get subjected to equal ridicule, but of course the sick, Marxist utopia that they're trying to turn the west into will have no room for 'hateful words or thoughts'.
