this is way more extreme than what I see, but it's not uncommon for people at our temple to be booking it's services for weddings in advance without anybody to get married. There is a 2 year waiting list to get a wedding there, I've had my own parents ask me if they think I'll be ready in a couple years and should they put my name down...we can always cancel is what they say but it'd be nice to have in case we need it...totally fk'd but happens frequently especially since deposit is minimal 500 bucks or so. Never seen anyone go so far as to plan the whole thing and just look for somebody to slip in for the date.
