Guys applauding an older guy's use of just, and measured, violence to defend himself from verbal and physical battery--at his place of employment--from a menacing, younger, able-bodied person (gender neutral) who could be carrying a weapon and probably has criminal ties and a criminal record.

Bus drivers in the inner city have to put up with a tremendous amount of shit. Your average white knight wouldn't last one day with that bus driver's job. These guys deserved combat pay. Society needs to cut him some slack and realize that he ain't driving buses in Helsinki.

I could see some people objecting to the bus driver's actions, because she technically 'retreated' before he had gone and struck her, but that's naive. The shit would've went on until someone went down.

It looks like she struck the bus driver at 0:29, though it's blocked from view. Someone wails in the background, suggesting she had escalated the fight then.

She isn't so much as fighting as provoking. She throws a weak punch to the bus driver then retreats - that can't be anything *but* a provocation. It's like that old video of Sean Connery defending hitting a woman - the woman is looking for a decisive end to the interaction, and the only way out is getting physical, whether that's an uppercut or physically throwing her off the bus - both of which the bus driver does.

Women are masters of this stupid punk provocation move. Mostly because they assume that they won't get their comeuppance. And they're usually right.

I applaud the guy and the bitch definetly deserved it but I feel he probably should have played it a bit smarter. Instead of delivering an almight Ryu like Shoryuken uppercut, he should have just grabbed her and thrown her off the bus along with all her shit. I hope he doesnt get into serious trouble for this.

The system is so stupid in charging him. Clearly if you provoke somebody and are about to attack, you have a right to defend yourself. But somehow these prosecutors have no clue.

As for the bus driver she was in the wrong. He has every right to defend himself and to be aggressive towards those who are to him.

Spot on. When going to Uni I rode the bus multiple times per day, many times at night. Certain routes carry mostly students and white collar workers, but other routes carry a different class of citizen and these can be very troublesome. The amount of crazy shit I've seen on buses is mind boggling, and I think the drivers aren't compensated nearly as much as they should be.

On a side note, that bitch deserved the upper cut, but I have to give her credit for not being completely KO'd. Bish has a better chin than Tyson did.

I'm not entirely sure how self-defense laws work, but I've got a buddy who had a situation awhile back. He was attacked by a minor at a park who thought he was the shit. My buddy told me after the fact that in order to claim self-defense against a minor you have to be hit 3 times or something and also make an attempt to get away or something like that. Not sure how accurate that is but anyway, the kid was wailing on my buddy who was also trying to get away. Little did the little fucker know that my friend had trained MMA for almost 10 years, so after he took a few wild punches to the shoulders (the idiot kid missed loads) my buddy went off on the fucker and opened up a proper can of whoop ass.

I think that trying to knock her out was the most efficient way handling her (as opposed to wrestling her to the ground or whatever- which, in our society, would be probably have him framed as a rapist). She could have had a knife or something on her.

He wasn't just doing it for himself, but for the safety of the other bus riders.

Here's a guy who drives a bus, doing a pretty thankless job that brings him in contact with the dregs of humanity on a daily basis but that is vital for the functioning of society.

Does he get even a minimum level of respect from this girl? Just a basic recognition on the order of, "Hey, I appreciate that a man like you drive this bus so that I can get around town and go about my business."

No. In fact, far short of offering even the most basic respect that would you offer a fellow human being, she talks shit, attempts to goad him into a fight and then when her words fail to rile him, she punches him in the face.

The man, having suffered through blatant disrespect and now a physical attack from the girl, then defends himself in kind, at which point the girl threatens to have him arrested.

The entire chain of events is perfectly illustrates the contempt of the Western female for average, beta men.

In this girl's mind, the bus driver is basically a non-person, entirely unworthy of her respect. So unworthy, in fact, that she feels entitled to punch him in the face. When he dares to defend himself, she seems shocked and confused. "How dare he? Who does he think he is? Does he not see that I'm a female?" she must have thought, and as a fellow rider pointed out. "That's a female!"

Yes, a female. Is that supposed to make her a protected species? Does that give her a license to behave like a complete jackass in public and face no repercussions from her behavior? In her mind, yes.

A large amount of modern women have this mindset because they are simply oblivious to the work that men do, and it is only that work which allows women the luxury of being so oblivious in the first place. Men built and maintain modern civilization so that ungrateful bitches like this can walk around and pretend to be badasses.

Western men are largely victims of our own success in this regard. We've built such an impressive and highly functional civilization that has been operating smoothly for so long that women have completely forgotten how it came to be and have no idea how it operates (I'm sure I don't have to point out to anyone on this forum how shockingly ignorant of history and complex systems most women are).

The result is that they feel entitled to disrespect and degrade men at will, since they basically live in a bubble insulated from reality.

Of course, when reality hits, it hits hard.

This chick deserved it. Despite the non-stop shit talking, you can see her body language get a bit submissive and regretful right before he drops the death hammer. I agree with a couple other posters that he could have gone a little less violent. I personally would have gone with an open-hand slap with a 70% wind up, or possibly a mild Undertaker chokeslam directly off of the bus. However, this is the closest thing I'll ever see to a perfect Mortal Kombat uppercut in real life, and for that I am grateful. FLAWLESS VICTORY.

Regarding El Mechanico's statement, I've noticed lizards are tougher than we give them credit for. That reptile had a hell of a jaw.

There are actually signs posted in buses here in NYC about the penalties for assaulting the driver. It isn't a given that he'll be fired or prosecuted. She issued threats, AND put her hands on him.
