This has raised the ire of citizens, reportedly calling these excuses. Veteran Taiwanese singer Emi Lee has also spoken out against the leak, expressing, "The public service is too inefficient."

So was the consensus that he drugged a lot of them...because I don't see why filming the sex acts is such a big deal.

Also, how did he get caught? Did one of the girls report him to the police?

They said about 10 of the girls in the videos/photos were unconscious and coincidentally just as many are coming out against him. I guess that's how they got him.

According to this article, the triad AND the police got ahold of the photos/videos and blackmailed him. When he decided to stop paying up, they started leaking photos in May. So he ended up turning himself in because of that.

Just saw a bunch of the videos. It looks like most of the girls are on some kind of drugs and are resisting but are too weak to fight. Interestingly they all seems to fight it at first but a lot of them sort of gave in and enjoying the fuck (somewhat). This is his only line of defense I think.
