I can't tell if this is some local problem with my browser, or if it's something with the RVF, but sometimes (I'd say over the past 2-3 days only) the smilies and animated gifs I see in posts are static when they should be moving.

Is anyone else experiencing this problem?

Moving for me today. Gifs don't have infinite loops...they stop after a while. Try clearing your cache.

Cleared my cache and it still seems to be going on. It's interesting that Soma is also experiencing the same problem. I'm also using Chrome--the latest version. I just tested the forum on IE, and everything seemed smoother (though was moving in slow motion in one of the instances).

I wonder if chrome has put out a new version that changes the way they process gifs.

Happens all the time to me, but only when the GIF has been playing for a while.

Another issue (not sure if it happens to others) is when many youtube videos are embedded in a post page, my browser freezes for some time, its kind of annoying.

This always happens but I assumed it's because of my piece of shit, 1989 laptop.

Yeah that's a memory issue. Happened on my older laptop.

I concur. If you switch to another tab then switch back the gif's start working again.
