I have been doing game for about a year and a half. I've probably total around 500 approaches but I haven't been happy with my results. Many lays came from OKcupid and not approaches.
So I did 100 approaches and wrote short emails to myself documenting them. Like a fresh start. And they were day approaches exclusively.
I got 6 numbers, a few text convos, and 1 date that led to a make out.
Here's what I'm good at :
I'm funny
I have an interesting job
lead an interesting life
Here is what I think I could improve in:
I tend to be incredibly sarcastic, which got some night reactions but I wonder if I toned it down enough during the day.
Although I tried to keep convo's going while dropping bait (per Roosh's book) if they don't seem engaged or didn't ask questions, I tended to bail after 5 minutes. Should I could keep going until they clearly leave or look away.
Wonder if I am thinking too much about what I am saying and not paying attention to her reactions.
I approach girls that are attractive to me. Mostly they are significantly younger. Should I screen them for age? Since they may be less likely to be into an older guy? How would that work?
Thanks for any help
In what city in the US are you doing these approaches? It does get harder approaching young girls as you get older, especially in most of the USA. I have all the respect in the world for your honesty and the work you put in, but your numbers close percentage is pretty awful. A change of city or country might be what is needed, since you seem to have most of your shit together.
Im in Richmond VA. Funny, I'm hoping to be moving to Peru soon! If that doesn't work out. I'll most likely move anyway since business is not great in this town.
As to the number close, it's possible Im not going far enough and should be asking more. But I'm also aware that a girl will give you a number just to get rid of you. It's not a big deal to give a guy a number. However, cant get a date without a number, so maybe err on that side. Thanks man

RE: 100 approach 2 week reflection
You may very well be right about being too sarcastic during day game. I'm not familiar with Richmond specifically, but I'm 40ish and pull down to 25 (I'll go lower than that if it comes to me in the U.S., but generally don't pursue it) and find that being the charming, refined gentleman works better than being the cocky, sarcastic funny guy, especially during the day. Also, in the south I generally find that well-placed courtliness attracts the kind of women I like, but sometimes it's more like fishing than hunting. For me, as I've gotten older, gaming has required more patience because it's a smaller demographic that I'm looking for because I prefer younger women and in the U.S., it's a lot harder to be 40 chasing women in their 20's than most other countries, even though most people say I look younger. This may be your experience too, but don't let it stop you from continuing to hone your craft because you will get results. It just requires some patience and an occasional trip to a country where people aren't so anal about weird age restrictions. In the U.S., a woman 10 years younger might try to make you feel like a dirty old man, where in Costa Rica recently I missed out on what would have been a great bang with someone half my age because I was too slow on the uptake.
A pessimist thinks all women are bad. An optimist hopes that they are...

Generally speaking, don't end the interaction. Let them end it. If they are really uncomfortable, they will say.."I'm late, I have to go"

You probably are thinking too much. Focus on having fun and enjoying the interaction. Be in the moment, not thinking about what you should say or what you should have said. Be a better listener, this will help you pick up cues and hints about her.

If you are attracted to them, approach them. Many younger girls will think you are too old, BUT, 1-2 out of 10 will give you a fair chance. They might be curious about older men, they might have some sort of "daddy issues", these are the ones you have to ready for. These are the ones you have a chance with.
Don't be so hard on yourself, street approaching is the hardest way to get laid. And, 100 street approaches is nothing, after 1000 street approaches, you will have a much better feel.

Having said all this, I just got a job offer in Cuzco Peru! Im moving in January!!!! Drinks on me!
Congrats Rudiger you wont be doing 1000 or even 10 approaches there to get your first young cute peruana. Why do Americans (i was one of them) insist on making it so much harder for themselves when there are better and easier places. Though, until January, there is nothing wrong with sharpening your skills and doing many more approaches where you are at.
If you dont bang in your first 10 approaches in Peru drinks are on me.
