This is the kind of fuckery I pulled in middle school/high school, and even up through my first month or two in college. I had fuckall to show for it.

It is one thing to pull that shit as a kid. A grown man ought to know better.

Trust me, I know. I was one of these dudes, and nothing could shake me out of it save for mercilessly negative female reactions (and even then, I needed a handful of those before I really got it). Their belief in the sanctity of women and their necessary placement on a pedestal is unshakeable by even the most logical of red pill realities. They need to face some tough realities before it all comes together.

This is typical for the super-religious. It took him a year to wait for the "right moment" to ask her out (or ask her dad IF he could ask her out), and then while they were "dating" they didn't really date. It was him spending time with her and her family, with not a lot of solo time with her. I wonder when they had their first kiss. My guess is it will be at the wedding when they hear, "You may kiss the bride." The Lord will insist they save this sacred moment for when they are officially joined before God.

Well said. It's also the same case with being friend zoned. When I see some of my friends being friend zone and they become depressed about it, I just think to myself:

"Man, if you are getting friend zoned at this stage of your life, its because you haven't learned anything from it."

Not saying it does not hapen to the best players, but a true player knows how to use the friend zone to his advantage.

I'm inclined to give this guy a pass, because they're super religious and probably both virgins. If so, it's not like she's fucking some other guy while he's writing love letters to her.

Now compare that to the average guy who spends years in the friend zone with some chick, hanging out with her and cockblocking enterprising players like yourself, when he has no chance. Meanwhile, she's fucking other guys.

Yep. Use the friendzone to access her friends. A chick has to either be fucking you, soon to be fucking you, or somehow helping you fuck her friends. If you're not getting any of these things from her, there's no point in being around her.
