In my relationships, I generally pay 2/3ds of all bills. My last few girlfriends have cooked and even cleaned for me, so I'm glad to bankroll most of the relationship. Traditional feminine girlfriend makes me want to be the traditional provider boyfriend.

But I lost my job a few months back. Just moved back in with my parents. I was scared to tell my girlfriend about this. I thought she'd lose a significant amount of her infatuation with me, even though she's Freudian Slipped "I love yous" several times already, mostly during sex (after only dating a few weeks, mind you). I knew she was putty in my hands, but I was still concerned. Luckily, she was totally understanding and my admission hasn't stopped the relationship from getting more intense and fun.

I need some help asking her to pay more in a cool, funny way that will make her laugh. I remember Roissy used the line "I'll get this round, and you get the next 1,000." It's funny, but it's mostly only useful during the first few dates. I need something more substantial. Any advice? Any articles you guys could link me to?

First off sorry for your situation. Been through it and it sucks.

Second of all, I don't think coming up with a cocky funny line is going to help at all in your situation. I think all it will show is that you are insecure about your situation. When I was in your position, it affected me a lot and sometimes tried to come up with stories as to why I was not working during the days, etc...

People see right through it.

My advice: be upfront with her and let her know you are working on the job thing and need to take it easier on expensive outings.

Option 2: get creative with your dates. plenty of things to do that cost nothing.

You are in a bad spot.... Women love power and money is power.... I'd hide it best you can... playing it straight to a woman by telling her you lack power is a beta move.

There are other ways to be powerful such as character and personality and experience. Also taking risks with a woman is powerful.

IE: I was driving my racing yellow Porsche about 90 MPH in the fast lane of the freeway on a suspended license... not good.

I saw the CHP (California Highway Patrol) in my rear view mirror entering the freeway.

Then as we watch the CHP finally get to park behing the Porsche after he had to back up about 200 yards or so to get to the on ramp I snap the button of her jeans and slip my hand inside her pre moistened vag.

Know I am finger banging her as we watch the furious cop walking around the area. Lot of people thet using the restroom and taking advantage of the view. There is no one there to site so he sits there for a while playing the waiting game.

That story was far too detailed to believe you just wanted to illustrate "I outsmarted a cop and it turned my girl on." If you want to write porn stories for other men, there's dedicated websites for that I am sure.

Be matter-of-fact about it. You are without a job but it's temporary. Girls aren't attracted to a guy's job, they're attracted to the type of guy that can easily get a good job. Sometimes you lose on, and then you work to get another one. Your personality (ambition, intelligence, social savviness, ...) doesn't dissolve when you're fired.

I couldn't have said this better myself.
For a more temporary solution to non LTRs: I recently was taking a nap before a date with a chick and literally woke up 10 minutes after our scheduled time to a text of "where are you?". I threw something on and dashed out the door inadvertently forgetting my wallet. When I showed up looking like I just woke up, essentially not giving a fuck, and running tight confident game, she picked up the tab no problem.
