All anyone's beauty does is make them more attractive to the opposite sex, but seeing as that is the raison-d'etre for a girls existence, I don't really see what the problem is. And if you think being bitter about a first love makes someone slutty, I'm afraid I have some bad news: Every single girl is a slut, by that reckoning. They all want to get back at the first guy who hooked-up with them and left, just the same as every guy who has ever been burned by a girl never forgets it.

As far as general sluttiness goes, the 'average girl' is going to be far less selective than a pop-starlet, because of the differing environment and the risk/reward ratio.

Sorry, I have worded that about success poorly. I meant to say that men don't get particularly excited by fame and status, unlike the opposite. Fame can even be a negative, like Severina, that Croatian pop singer famous for her porn video. Maybe money, but being a provider isn't nearly as important an attribute in a woman as it is for the opposite. For a gold-digging guy, perhaps, but cases of men being awarded half of a woman's wealth in today's legal system are comparatively rare.

What I'm asking is: what makes her such a great catch for a successful man? (as opposed to, say, any random hot student girl) Everyone would bang (see porescheguy), but why stay, commit, wife her up?

I definitely agree that it would have been different a century ago, but the dowry is long gone.

Yeah we had a bit of a laugh about that on this here forum. Basically, he was successful, married his highschool sweetheart and had a pretty chill life. Her attempt to say 'fuck you!' to him basically led us all to suspect that she hadn't gotten over it even years later. Even the guy laughed it off being all 'dohoho I remember her being the really nerdy/shy/weird girl!'.
