Clearly, USA economics don't apply here. I'm certainly glad of the possibilities afforded by travel...

My goal is to get the most bang for my buck, whether its a z3, a jaguar, or something else.

Depends whats your budget, a z3 is cool but it's not gonna attract the same girls as a Mercedes CLK for example

Spartan don't buy a Jag unless you buy two. That way you have one for spares. They are unreliable machines,I've owned a couple and both gave me nothing but headaches.

Its not the question If you can buy a car but if you can afford it ? Petrol isn't cheap nowadays (unless you will be driving across FSU), add insurance and every year servicing plus additional costs of repairs/spare parts.

Vorkuta made a great point, old jags got bad reputation, and spare parts are horrendously expensive.

You have to choose between older but more prestigious cars which will ruin you when they eventually broke down, and younger but less exciting cars which are cheaper and more affordable. You should answer yourself the question, are you financially stable enough to afford an old Jag or BMW.

What you need is a car with character that appeals to wider variety of women, not just bimbos and gold diggers.

You need something that appears urban cool, but is also casual for quick getaways to the beach.

the old BMW z3 model is a nasty sucker, huge consumtion of gasoline at 1.50€ per Liter, better buy yourself a newer model, more expensive but less fuel. A BMW 318d for example will consume less, but the z3 is not diesel

Interesting... the CLK is actually cheaper than the z3 for the same age car.
Certainly more of them are available on the market
BMW 3 series is even cheaper.. ridiculously so..2500 USD for a year 2000 model.

This type of car is less sporty, and more "luxury sedan" type.
I feel it would make me look old...and although I'm in my 20s, I have some trouble with this.

Wouldn't a roadster/sporty car be better for a youthful appearance?

Finally narrowed it down, I can't believe its possible to own something like this for around 7,000 USD.


6,600 Euro- Porsche Boxter


6,000 Euro- BMW 320i

Is a drop top a good idea in a land where the temps plummet to minus 20c in winter? Also having a two seater will limit you,how you going to take your new Polish chick and her female friend to the beach?

Tough choice but the Benz and the z3 are the most fun and comfortable. I like those SLKs but 200 means 2.0 liter with no supercharger?

Hard tops are included for the Z3 and SLK.

Yes, for practicality the BMW 3 series convertible would be better.

SLK and Z3 are both 2.0L, the 3 series is 2.2L

Porsche- 150 kW (204 PS)
SLK- 120 kW (163 PS)
BMW 320- 110 kW (150 PS)
Z3- 110 kW (150 PS)

Performance wise, they are all pretty good. I think looks and practicality matter more.

For example, I probably wont get the Porsche since its more expensive to buy and also maintain, even though its got some better performance. Plus..it doesn't look too good, IMO... and looks are important, although owning a Porsche would be pretty neat.

I´d buy the Merc if i were you. The Porsche says try hard a bit and the BMW 320 will give you the dreaded `turk` look. The Z3 as a car is pretty cool but a bit gayish.

Youre going to drive a Z3 on FSU roads? Haha.

I have no intention of driving a car in Ukraine, the roads are abominable and the drivers are drunk cunts.

I am eyeing an Aston Martin but will keep that for EU jaunts.
