I have an idea. I realize that it is far from being an original idea, but I believe it is something that everyone should consider. I suggest that we do a poll in January 2013 to decide who had the post of the year for 2012. The forum member who had the best single post during the year 2012 will be the winner. The winner would receive round trip airfare to the city of his choice and a hotel room for one week, not to exceed $150.00 per night. Some people are hotel snobs, but $150.00 should land you in a decent hotel in most cities and the winner should be out doing approaches rather than sitting around in a luxury hotel room. A hotel room at that rate would cost $1,050 for the week. I typically pay from $100.00 to $500.00 for round trip airfare within the United States, Central America, the Carribean, and South America. Argentina can be considerably more expensive than $500.00. Europe and Asia are often much more expensive than $500.00. This entire package should cost about $2,000, or even less depending on the destination. If one hundred forum members each donated $20.00 to the post of the year fund, there would be enough in the fund to make this work. I realize that some members would be unwilling to participate, but this could work and I believe it could be very rewarding. It would encourage everyone to write the best possible posts and would be a nice reward to the person who contributed the greatest single post. It wouldn't be a huge expense for anyone assuming there would be one hundred willing participants. Let me know what you think. The runner up could win dinner for four with Dash Global, Was this Beta, and Indian Race Troll.

I'm not sure if everyone would be on board with the money aspect, but I like the spirit of this thread so I'm bumping it.

Maybe something like "posts of the year", "threads of the year" or "new members of the year" type vibe as well.

I like the new members of the year award. Maybe give them a trophy or something in their name. Maybe a MVP of the year, comeback poster of the year, American /European Latin American member of the year and after 10 years we could be talking about greatest of all time like a Wilt vs Jordan vs Lebron type of conversation.

I think TravelerKai unanimously takes new member of the year for 2014. Beyond that, I don't know who or what wins for anything else.

Post of the Year, I like it! POTY. We need to do it as a poll, where people can vote. Prolly Tuth should do it, since he sees way more posts than most. Post ten finalists, then let everyone read them and vote. Not that hard.
