Meeting With a US President You Disagree With
If you got a chance to meet and possibly exchange words, have drinks with a US President you wholeheartedly disagree with, would you still do it?

At the moment, despite my objections with Pres. Obama's actions I still have some sort of respect for the office. I'll probably leave out my objections to the side and let things flow unless I was strongly wronged by his actions. Besides, it'll be a memorable experience and a DHV story to have met and hung out with a US President.

Including the dead ones? I would love to have a long conversation with Nixon!

I would ask him why he ran for president in 1968, when the country was stuck in Vietnam and split in two by the war, civil rights movements, anti-war protests. I would like to know if he did it all for ego, or if a genuine desire to serve his country also played a part.

Hell yeah I would. They are still people, as much as we like to demonize them. Imagine all the stories they could tell- it would be fascinating.

Not to mention it would be awesome to be on a first name basis with a president.

I would ask Nixon what he was doing in Dallas the day John F. Kennedy was shot. It seems like a little too much of a coincidence to me.

I think that most people who have personal -- not just ideological -- problems regarding presidents, don't stop to think about the demands of the job.

I wouldn't mind meeting any president, except maybe Warren G. Harding.

Warren G. Harding was a serious player. Check it out!

Woodrow Wilson for selling the USA out! Now if you don't know the story of the Federal Reserve and how it is created, then you need to learn.

I would totally hang out with Dubya. I don't think he was really cut out for the Presidency and his connections controlled him more than he controlled them. He seems like the kind of guy that would rather just hang out, drink beer, and chase skirts. It's probably why he spent more time on vacation than any other President in history.

I totally didn't like Dubya as a president, but at the same time, he'd probably make a great neighbor. Although game isn't his strong suit, if you got an invite to a summer party he was hosting, you'd probably have a great time.

One president I would be cautious about hitting the town with is Clinton. Growing up and living in the DC area for most of my life, I've met a few women who managed to cross paths with the guy. No matter how trivial the interaction or how brief, you could tell from their description of it that it was the most gina tingling experience of their lives. They say 5 minutes of alpha is worth 5 years of beta. When we're talking about Bill Clinton, it's more like 5 seconds of alpha is worth a lifetime of beta. You would definitely get laid if you went out as his wingman, but she'd always remember you as merely the guy who partied with Bill Clinton. And like the time when Rick James told all of the bitches at his house specifically "do not fuck Charlie Murphy," if Clinton pulled that on you, you'd be done, and not for the night, but for the next month.

I want to go hunting with Teddy Roosevelt, ride horses with Washington, smoke plantation tobacco with Jefferson, have beers and Texas bbq with Dubya, and pick up bitches with Clinton and JFK.

Yes, absolutely. He'd have to be really, really bad for me to think about not attending. Think Idi Amin or Charles Taylor.

Just meeting with a leader doesn't mean you support their political views. Do you have some sort of chance to attend an event where Obama will be speaking? Maybe at a political rally it'll almost be assumed you are a supporter, unless you are heckling. And just attending a rally wouldn't do anything at all for your rep. But if it's some event he's holding not related to campaigning but, you know, running the country, and you received an invitation, I don't think any reasonable person will assume you are by rights a supporter.

You've got that 100% right about Clinton. I also know several women that have met him and they say the exact same thing (including a few Republicans). Every one of them got wet. Married, single, it didn't matter. And this isn't just because he was President. I know women that have met Presidents Bush and Obama also. While several thought Obama was sexy, none of them had the same DTF reaction with Obama and Bush as women do with Clinton. I have heard women say similar things about the Lt. Governor of California, Gavin Newsome, but that dude looks like a male model, so it doesn't count.
