What are you giving 100% effort for and what are you giving 10%
After another typical day which happened to end with me lurking these forums for tidbits of knowledge, I thought it would be a good exercise to be completely honest with myself and reflect a bit on what I'm currently accomplishing with my life. Maybe this exercise will help kick you in the butt and finally get around to doing that thing you know you've been putting off.

Anyway, as I review the last few months of my life and what I've done to improve myself, a few things stick out:

Working out-I give 100% effort at the gym, go regularly, and am always looking for ways to improve my routine

Style-I read various websites for fashion advice, look for advice from people I trust, and though my budget holds me back from doing everything I want I feel I am doing a decent job.

Education- I keep up on current events, and have recently signed up to go back to school to finish my masters. I know schools not for everyone, but I do feel I'm getting a benefit.

But what about stuff I've read on these forums that I know would improve me but for whatever reasons I just haven't done? For me, these things include:

Learning how to dance- I need to take a couple months of formal dance class, because, well, I can't effing dance. Why I haven't, who knows.

Learn a new language- I downloaded the Rosetta stones for a couple languages, did a few lessons in one, and then stopped. Why? Laziness mostly.

Read more-Yes I read many current events and interesting things I find on the internet, but not nearly enough actual books. By including more well-written novels in my reading repertoire I know that I will drastically improve my conversation skills and vocabulary

Travel by myself- Self explanatory, just plain haven't done it. Farthest I've gone by myself is a 3 hour drive to Ocean city.

Develop a hustle- I've had a few failed startup business's, all small-time. That was a few years ago and I really haven't tried again since. I know there is an opportunity out there for me, but I have to find it.

And of course approach more- Too many times I am focused on the task at hand and am oblivious to everything and everyone around me. I need to pay more attention to that subtle eye that cute girl gives me while I'm out, and then have the balls to approach.

------------------------------------------------------------------

Anyway, the point of this thread is to analyze what things you can do with your life right now to improve both who you are and your lifestyle. What good habits do you have that you would like to continue and what do you have the ability to change but for whatever reason haven't?

I am hoping maybe some of us will point out things that maybe other members never even thought of, and use those ideas to improve themselves.

(When I'm not in school I live in an area too rural to run game, I have to drive an hour to la Crosse (or to Cedar rapids) to run game. As a result I can only game weekends during the summer, but I game hard. Not sure if it would still be counted as 100% though)

Seriously, I've been working my ass off for the last 10 years. I just got a pretty cushy job that pays really well, got a few girls on rotation. I think it's good to take the occasional lull and kick back.

Sober day game (excluding gym). All my pick ups prior were hung over. Already got some under the belt but now feel it's healthier to give a shot for the next few months.

Weight room
Hired a trainer. Will get to a perfect body by spring, no excuses.

Languages
Trying to get conversational before my trip. Doing okay.

Diet:
Complete revamp, no caffiene. Only alcohol on dates from day game pretty much a reward system for a sober day pick up.

Combinations
Love the idea of mixing it all together. Listen to languages on my cardio days repeating the lessons outloud as I run. Health and day game go together. On heavy weights days I practice my dance moves when I finish a set. Could care less if people laugh, most don't because they see I'm in shape. Actually brings more people over to me.

10%
Work. Needs to improve here, need more contacts.

Style. Feel these are linked. Still searching around to try to make myself look older, not working. Hampering "presence" in meetings.

Money is number one, so we'll see what I come up with after the vacation languages get replaced by networking hard. I'll also allow myself to drink again assuming its for networking purposes. On the plus side the convincing is done and everyone in the office has agreed I won't be needing an MBA. Thank god. We'll see how true that is come year end bonuses, I may be naive but believe them.

Finally, reading. Only at 2-3 books a month, pretty soft.

I don't think anyone is giving 100% effort towards self improvement, though many of us like to think we are and some are trying harder than others.

For example, how can you be trying 100% at self improvement when your only trying 10% at broadening your social circle?

Your social circle is an extension of yourself-- a broader social circle will open you up to potential business opportunities, new experiences and cultures, more lays, and more close friends. Sometime's just talking to people around you will open up new doors for you that you would never expect. I can't tell you how many people I know have gotten new, better jobs just by shooting the breeze with strangers who happened to be in a position to hire.

In an economy like this, connects are everything.

100% effort to reading great info and books, learning about business, freelancing, different skills etc

RE: What are you giving 100% effort for and what are you giving 10%
100-Trying to be fully financially independent

Middle ground-I've been working out decently, but not as much as I'd like to and can't afford a gym right now so I can't do heavy lifting (been working out at local parks/on bars and doing plyometrics). I can do style decently when I need to, but not much money so it aint easy to obviously get more clothes (which leads toooo).

10-Actually having money or anything to really show for it. My finances have been really stressing me out as I've been on the job search for a few months (and waiting tables for the time being), trying to get it really under control and get a real/full time job finally within the next month or two hopefully. Not really having a whole lot of extra money to do anything with has just been absolutely killing me and stressing me the f*** out. Gotta get on top of it and not just have excuses. When an au pair has more money than you to blow on completel bullshit, it kinda tends to f*cking piss you off and hard at times not to show. Gotta fix it big time cause its started to get to me, but fall five times-get up six. Rise.
-Increasing my social circle-Only know so many people in the area right now, not having the money to go out more definitely does not help either. Everything really centers on the money.
