White Knighting is now extending into the realm of electronics! Good thing we have guys looking out to protect iPhone-addicted broads' most prized possessions.

Maybe I'm being a little cynical, but I wonder if homeboy would have also not hesitated to give chase if it had been my smart phone that was snatched. Or, did he just do it because it was a girl's? I'm also wondering how long it took for that girl to take back her phone, thank the white knight, and use it to text the guy she's actually banging about her "ordeal."

Whatever the case, thanks to this hero, this chick won't miss even one night at the bar staring at her phone the whole time--interrupted only by periodic self-photography sessions of herself and friends to post on Facebook--instead of living in the present moment and engaging the environment around her.

Hester, a real estate broker and avid photographer, wasn't going to just stand by and do nothing, so he gave chase.

"All I was thinking was, 'Catch this guy,'" Hester said Friday.

Joined by other New Yorkers, Hester and the band of strangers caught up to the alleged thief on Broadway. They held him on the ground and Hester began taking video with his camera.

Nothing wrong with that, also I don't count the guys who actively prevent crimes as white knight or beta for doing so. My guess is that the guy's probably a good guy Greg and would have helped out whoever was in trouble.

If you're right, I applaud that kind of citizen. Frankly, I'm that kind of guy in my day-to-day life. I help old ladies, old men, disoriented tourists. What I'm questioning is whether this guy would have really helped a guy in the same situation. It's a little suspicious. Erika Silva, the would-be victim is 23 and, of course, female. Not only that: it's a goddamn phone! If the girl was being attacked, that'd be a different story.

If we have (male) citizens that only leap into action when a young girl is in trouble, then we have an army of protectors whenever he perceives a female in "danger." I needn't tell you the problem with that.

Yeah I'm gonna go out on a limb and assume if it had been another dude in that situation, there'd be no chivalrous intervention, but I guess we'll never know. This is probably based on cynical assumption but I know where Tuth is coming from, that people are more likely to be concerned with crime or turn into a crimefighter when there's a broad involved.

Ok guys, obviously if a guy had his iphone stolen and just stood there no one would give a shit. People would think "Oh he's not chasing the criminal I guess he doesn't care about his iphone, so why should we care about him."

But in this case, there is no indication that the girl was running after him or anything. But Abra Kadabra Alakazam! Out jumps a white knight chasing the thief down the street.

Treat all people equally, men and women - that's what the feminists want. If she needed help she would have screamed for it or asked someone. But if she's just standing there no one should have the moral obligation to help her out.

I should start Black Knighting (snatching) iPhones for the fuck of it. I posted all-city times in track in a major U.S. city. I'm probably one of fastest motherfuckers in this forum, and I've slowed down a bit. I don't look it, but I can haul some major ass. And, if only one guy is chasing me, I'm stopping, turning around, and fucking him up RVF-style.

This "white knight" conversation is really interesting..

I mean, When is it ok to protect innocent people and when is it not???

I have a little sister, I would probably have taken a bullet for her. My instinct would be to protect my mother but she would probably say..."no, get out of her and save yourself". I have alot of aunts and female cousins and would probably try to help them. But, thats family, maybe thats different.

What about these scenarios...?

I see an old lady being robbed by some teenage punks. She gets punched, thrown to the ground and they take her purse. They start kicking her. Am I a white knight if I try help her???

or,

I see a little girl getting beat up by a druggie. He punches her, he starts tearing her clothes off, he is joking her out with his hands around her neck. Am I a white knight for stepping in and knocking the dude out???

What about the Jerry Sandusky scenario..? You see an old man fucking a little boy in the ass. Do you do anything?

These are tough questions, I'm not saying I would intervene. I'm not sure what I would do..

What do you guys think? Does helping innocent victims make you a beta white knight or is their some scenarios were its ok???

Call me a white knight or whatever, but whenever i see someone weak being attacked and if i feel that i can deffend that person then i will.

I remember one time on the train, out of nowhere, i see this white man calling racist names to this indian woman, this indian woman was with her daughter which was about my age at the time. When he started calling her racist names, i was waiting for someone to say something because the train was full of people (it was mixed, whites and different minorities), soon as i see nobody is going to say anything, i quickly approached him and told him to shut his mouth and he just got shook and got off the train..the woman kindly told me thank you and i felt good about myself.

This other time, i saw this black dude robbing some little white boy. The white boy was begging him to give his phone back, i was just watching the black dude, waiting to make my move..soon as the black dude tells me ''what?'' i quickly approach him as if i was to bang him right on the face and then he tells me sorry and gives the phone back to the little boy.

I like bringing value to other people lives and that shit really bring my confidence level to the sky. Fear no man.

This is worth thinking about. We would have to do other kinds of petty shit so we're not on the hook for any stiff penalties if shit goes south. I'm thinking something like taking chicks' Starbucks Milkshakes out of their hands or their tables, drinking some (or taking the whole thing), and booking it. Some mayhem at the coffee shops and restaurants could be productive too. Unplugging laptops, moving their shit, sitting at their tables like nothing, taking a bite of their sandwich, talking shit, and then running when we're done or things get hairy. I think it's a little ridiculous for a phone, but I'd probably have done the same thing (guy or girl). Around where I live everyone helps everyone else out. So things like this never really raise my suspicions.

Yeah I don't really have a problem with this. Like Tuth said, it's only problematic if he'll only do it for young girls and wouldn't help out a random guy who got his phone stolen. From reading the story and watching the video that doesn't appear to me to be the case.

I think he did a good thing and deserves respect for it, regardless of whether he is a chump in other aspects of his life.
