Nothing about cigarettes themselves or smoking cigarettes is helping anyone get laid. It's totally illusory. Maybe it can be used it as a crutch: to do something with your hands, a way to break ice (got a light? tiene fuego?), just because you enjoy them (the only one i understand) etc. If ANYTHING at all, they make you feel cool and that manifests itself in better game/vibe.

The facts are: They smell bad, its bad hygiene, it fucks with your cardiovascular fitness on a massive level and thats only the short term (which then fucks with your ability in the sack, its true, admit it), makes your breath smell. Kissing a girl that has been smoking next to one that hasn't is like sticking your tongue in a bong bowl next to glass of water.

I quit smoking because it fucks with me physically, I'm far too active and athletic for cigarettes. I still miss it, I really try not to smoke even when drinking. Save the lungs for the times I let myself smoke pot.

I would challenge anyone to contradict this.

I was smoking pretty regularly for a year or two because it helped with stress (or at least felt like it did). During that time I noticed I was always tired, had a hard time breathing while exercising, boner issues, nasty taste in my mouth when I would wake up, girls didn't like the taste when I kissed them, among many other things.

All in all, I feel much better now that I quit smoking. And now when I kiss a girl who is a smoker, I definitely don't dig it and can understand why girls would always bring it up before.

If you use cigarettes as a crutch, swith over to breath mints, it works just as effectively in starting up a convo.

Fair enough. Didn't say a crutch was a bad thing. If only I had more crutches. If I had a fluorescent sign I could wear that said bang me and turned on hot chicks, I may fucking wear it around. You glanced over my argument at every turn with quips. Case not closed, you've said virtually nothing. I don't want a back and forth with you, I'm interested in what everyone has to say.

I miss cigarettes because I don't smoke a lot of pot anymore and it's great with a coffee, after spicy food, after sex or a run.. now that I don't have a big bag of weed at home I think of a cigarette.. not because my want for nicotine is a sign that undermines what I've said.

I feel like a reason guys make a big deal out of cigarettes and pulling girls is that they like cigarettes and the way it makes them feel like they're badass, slick or vibin' right. And maybe it does, but it isn't the fucking cigarettes that make it so.

I mean.. I think there should be smoking in bars, pool halls, restaurant patios, outside starbucks (oh this is still legal, right?) whatever.. I think a cigarette after sex or any sweaty activity is one of life's great feelings.. I'm all for personal autonomy and shit. I just dont think it arbitrarily makes someone more attractive to the opposite sex, helps game or anything.

A marine friend and I snowshoed, hiked and climbed up Mount Whitney in October. He smoked cigarettes at both camps and on several rests. Mind over matter exists, doesn't change the fact that he'd have an easier time without the tar and smoke constricting his lungs. I'm not attacking cigarettes, I'm attacking the claim that they help your game.

I am an ex-smoker. I agree with deadgabacho on this one. Going up to a girl and asking her for a light can be substituted with "hi".

Or any other opener for that matter. I stopped thinking smoking was cool about a year after I started. I never smoked when I was out to feel suave, cool, or laid back. I did it to feed a fucking heinous addiction (If you smoke cigarettes because you enjoy them, cool, but I was up to a pack and a half a day in my early twenties). If there was one thing it could help, it would be masking slight nervous ticks, because your hands are occupied. But I personally never really had that problem and you can also solve that problem by holding a drink.

The whole thing with using the situation of social smoking is great, if that helps you open. Use whatever tools you have to your advantage. What Im saying is that you can substitute anything for the "can I get a light" opener and still get the same results.

I mean, you're just gonna stack forward anyway, and girls could give two shits if you open them with a request for a light, opinion opener (unless it's obvious pua shit), a simple "hi", etc. They don't even remember how you open them half the time. It's not important. As long as you lead the conversation in a fun way, you can end up getting what you want. I'm a huge proponent of (as long as you've reached a certain level of competance in your game and you are pulling consistently)doing whatever you're most successful/comfortable with.

I've been smoking since I was 14 (I'm now 26). I smoke close to a pack a day.

Would I prefer not smoking? Hell yeah. It's expensive and my breathing (especially when I try to sleep) is getting harder and harder and at times I do sort of feel like a slave to the nicotine, and I don't like being controlled, but...

Would I want to quit? Not 'quit', but I don't think it's be so bad to be down on 3-5 cigs a day. It's a great way to kill time and a nice way to relax. I enjoy the taste very much, any girl who doesn't like me doing it has to get used to it.

My mother (her dad died of lung cancer) is militant anti-smoking, brainwashing me as a kid 'No girl wants to date a smoker', 'You'll die young' and all that candy.

Here's a few facts for you:

1) AT LEAST once a week, some cute girl approaches me to bum a smoke or use my lighter. That's the elimination of one of the biggest sticking points most guys starting in the game have. At least five or six lays in my life have originated this way, including the last girl I was with in University.

2) Not everyone who smokes gets cancer.

3) And really, who cares? Life is short and something else is going to kill you anyways.

4) In the 50's, everyone in movies smoked. Nowadays, only the badass and cool movie characters smoke. The current slow criminalization of smoking is a good way to step your bad boy game up.

5) It makes you look cool. One of the concepts of game is to look like you don't give a fuck, when you smoke you look like you don't give a fuck about your life. That's next level aloof game.

I literally can track almost every girl I have swooped to smoking on some level. If not the opener, then the rapport, comfort and bonding smoking helps accelerate.

And by now you should know I am all about collapsing time frames.

IMHO = In My Humble Opinion

Now I get it! I had no idea what that meant.

Regarding cigarettes, those airport smoking rooms are a goldmine for meeting women.

I hate shopping malls worldwide, but the smoking areas outside of them are also fantastic pick-up spots.

It's like everything else, just don't go overboard. I probably buy a pack a week of cigarettes. Maybe I smoke 1 or 2 a day. The rest I either give away or get them wet.

So far, I've only had positive things come from smoking.

A few years ago I got about $3500 worth of tickets. I saw two guys in the courthouse smoking area. One of them had an ID hanging of his jacket that said he was a prosecutor. The other guy just so happened to be the judge. When my case was called the judge and the prosecutor were still laughing about the conversation we'd had over our smokes.

Smokers camaraderie got the case dismissed!

Because of cigarettes I just learned a new word.

In the Navy I was on a huge ship and the only smoking officers were me and a Rear Admiral. We just sat out there all night and smoked and talked.

Wisdom-passed-on wise that guy was second only to my father. And I got promoted.

I quit smoking last year. So far..

10 Benefits of Quitting

1.) Lungs full of fresh air... priceless

7.) Ability to pursue cardio sports

It increased my self-esteem. Quitting was the hardest thing i've undertaken in my life (8 failed attempts) that it took a piece of my soul with it (sorry for the melodrama). But, in return, quitting smoking was what got me started in my personal development.. it sort of catalyzed the new me.

My advise for anyone younger is to learn from me and not to pick up the habit. I spent college smoking cigarettes and drinking coffee (i quit coffee after), and it was a real b*tch breaking those addictions once I found myself in the real world.

Most people don't think that the effect of cigarettes on their health is real. My grandfather died of a heart attack due to excessive smoking. I will never start smoking even if it means pulling Victoria's secret models.

I never liked cigarettes that much (if I'm drunk at a party I might get one from a friend) and don't want to start smoking because I think it'll affect my athletic ability.

I do like to enjoy the occasional cigar though (though I don't inhale). I don't know if I'm enjoying them properly, but that's besides the point.

I've always been a non-smoker, just never liked the smell and here in The People's Republic of Washington State the taxes per pack are so high, that some counties had to stake cops on the edges of Indian Reservations to catch smokers buying cases of tax-free smokes, due to loss of State Revenue.

It instantly lowers a girl's value to me when she smokes. Hate kissing them, hate smelling it in their hair.

Another thing, just from an employment perspective, I would NEVER knowingly hire a smoker unless they were stellar in their field. From my experience they take too many breaks, are more likely to be sick, and never want to smoke alone tying up more people.

If you love smoking for the taste or sensation, man it's your life do with it as you wish. But doing it for ease of Girl transactions seems wasteful. The money saved not smoking could be put to better use to enhance your overall lifestyle attractiveness. Let alone the health benefits.

Sorry to hear that. However, news just in, he was going to die from something. And everytime a smoker dies people blame it on smoking. As if everything else in there life was perfect. ie they ate perfectly, exercised twice a day 6 days a week, took no pharms, didn't breathe any exahust, asbestos etc.

I agree. But there are still certain problems such as lung, throat, mouth cancers that are directly related to smoking. Sure, there are some people such as your grandfather who are not affected by it but that does not mean that its the same for everyone else.

Anyways, to each his own. If it helps you and doesn't effect your health then great!

G, as I said, if you love smoking for the taste and sensation, it's your life. But from my EXPERIENCE 40 years young, smokers get sick more.

Your jumping to some intellectually lazy conclusions too and making the "clever" insinuation that non-smokers are Hitler. Do you really think all those athletes were great BECAUSE of the smoking? Or was it more likely they were all smokers because it was the THING to do in social circles back then?

Smoking is bad for you. Smokers stink, their breath is usually bad, it dries out the skin (making one look older and shyttier), affects the dyck negatively, retards fetuses, yellows the teeth, the list goes on.

But fcuk it. I don't care if you shoot skag, sniff coke, smoke crack, pop pills or jerk off with a noose around your neck.

My only problem is smelling smokers. I wish I had my most noxious farts saved up so that every time a smoker stepped close after a fresh one, I could let one go so that whatever limited sense of smell would surely pick up the vile vestiges of shyt that is imprinted on the inside of my y-fronts.

Then they could experience the feel of nausea I get being close to them.
