Anybody going to watch this fight?





Should be interesting since Anderson amost lost last time they fought.

I've got Anderson to win, but I wouldn't be completely surpised if Chael wins this time around.

Unfortunately I think Anderson will win again. Even with the help of Vinny Magalhaes coaching. But who knows?

Pretty sure Anderson is going to win. After the first fight I imagine he's been working on getting back up from the takedown loads.

I think Chael has the Lesnar factor though - if he wins, it'll be with his ability to pin Anderson down and keep him there. I don't think after landing all those punches from the top last time he has more than a small chance of finishing Anderson though.

The only thing that makes me wonder is how much of a factor Anderson's rib injury had on the last fight.

If it wasn't really a factor and was just something Anderson brought up after the fight to cover up, then I think it will be a long fight since Chael can take Anderson's punches fairly well and is a much better wrestler than Anderson, so Anderson could end up on his back for 5 rounds with Chael taking a decision win.

Still, I can't stand the amount of shit talking that Chael does. He is verging on WWE status with all the crap he is talking.

Welp...I hope for Chael's sake that he either wins, or loses another close one. Or else he's just going to go down as a punchline for what happens when you piss of Anderson, despite being a great fighter in his own right.

lol at that video. Firstly because people are taking that shoulder bump so seriously (the hype will probably buy PPVs, so good move.)

Secondly because look at how depleted Sonnen is. Cutting that much weight is ridiculous; he'll be a heavyweight once he's rehydrated.. and this is a guy who claims he needs testosterone replacement therapy.

That was bizarre.

During the first round, I thought 'This is going to be the most boring 5round floor fest I've seen in a while' and then it was like somebody switched Anderson Silva on between the rounds and suddenly he was a takedown stuffing machine.

Chael was the opposite. He basically gave up after he missed that spinning move completely.

At that point I envisioned the fight basically being 25 minutes of ground and pound that didn't really do any damage but got Sonnen a UD.

Yeah I was kinda upset but silva was doing a good job of controlling chaels leg that was stuck in halfguard. I think he was using eddie bravos lockdown technique to trap the leg. Makes it really hard to move the leg let alone free it from half guard.

Boring?? How was that boring? I was sitting on the edge of my seat that whole round. First off who ever takes down Silva in the first few seconds? I don't think anyone was more surprised by that take down than Silva, who usually likes to keep his distance the first few minutes while he studies his opponent.

There was lots of action on the ground. Silva's defensive control on his back was impeccable. When he got mount I was counting down the seconds on the clock.

I don't think Sonnen gave up after that slip, that hard knee to the chest Silva gave him must have knocked his wind out. That was tough to recover from. At that point Silva smelled blood and went in for the kill.

Great fight! Now if you want to talk about a boring ass fight, the Griffin vs Ortiz match I stopped watching and started talking to people in the bar instead.

Yeah, it was lockdown half guard. He didn't have his "hook" leg extended far enough to fuck w/ Chael's base, so it was a somewhat loose lockdown half, which led to an eventual pass to mount. Still, easier to type about it than prevent Sonnen from raping you in person. That knee in the 2nd was brutal. Awesome fight.

I didn't watch the fight but I heard all about it from my Brazilian friends. Sonnen pissed off the entire country when he was talking shit about Brazil. There were nearly a dozen statuses that showed up in my FB feed about his comments. Brazilians don't like it when you talk about the jungle.

Sonnen got bitch slapped, talking smack but ended up getting smacked.

Incredible fight though, when Sonnen missed that punch he knew it was over.

So when are we gonna get Silva vs. John Jones? That is going to be one of the greatest match-ups in fight history. Jones is the only one with any serious chance of beating him. I love both these fighters and don't know who I'd favor here. I don't want Silva to retire before this gets to happen and Silva has made it clear he won't be fighting too much longer.
