Has it ever happened to you that when you're saying goodbye to a girl, she 1) realizes you're about to kiss her, and 2) darts in to peck you on the cheek?

This happens to me occasionally. For me it's the sign that, no matter how much interest this girl has shown, I will not get the bang. Sure I still follow up (because it's free), but I know the odds aren't good.

It's like the opposite of those magic words "do you have protection?"

Is there another way to look at this?
