Why are newbies so impressed with these lame PUA's? I'm seriously consider video taping myself doing approaches and how to seal the deal on the couch...

Because the truth that's preached on this board is that you're going to have to get rejected often. The PUAs sell a dream where you can just go in, swoop up whoever you want, and go home and bang. It takes awhile for them to realize that the PUA dream is false, and by then they give up. That's my guess, at least.
