I've always gotten the impression that life in Europe gives you lots to try and sample, what with all those different countries side by side, connected by rail.

Am I right about this?

My own experience with Russia is limited to a couple weeks in St. Petersburg, but I found that pretty interesting.

there is less intercultural exchange as you imagine. there are a lot of different cultures and languages concentrated in a relatively small space, but most people are citizens of their country, not yurop. but yes, its highly diverse.

The biggest plus about Europe is that there is communication between the various tribes. Yes sometimes communication breaks down, and there is utter cluelessness on both sides, but I've never heard of anything close to white flight in Europe. People stay put and talk it the fuck out. That makes for very interesting exchanges between people. In America, the various tribes pretty much ignore or move away from each other rather than talk about what bothers them. Some people like that, I don't. In Europe, everything is so close together and you have lots of new things to discover and explore. Wake up one day and go to a morning market in Antwerp, get in your car and burn into Germany down the autobahn at 200 mph and catch a film fest in Hamburg. Get on the bullet train and be in Prague by night to go to a rooftop party. No other place is like that. I could spend a lifetime here and could never see all the stuff that interests me. I always knew that I'd end up here, and I'm grateful to have a good job and good health that will sustain me here for decades.

However, the level of douchebaggery in Europe cannot be underestimated. There are some serious examples of dudes crossing the line that just frankly wouldn't happen anywhere else, and a lot of the time you really can't do anything about it, even when the guy is clearly a pussy and without the cops on his side he would be getting his school clothes wrinkled. I guess it's a downside to the ample communication here as everyone feels the need to express themselves no matter who gets offended.

I mean..unless you have money..life is gonna be pretty stagnant everywhere.

In a even simpler way to put it.
The simple fact that there is more variety in a smaller area (compared to united states)
That theres more opportunity to do more.

I have lived in Europe and across the US. The most exciting place in the world IMO is NYC. But without money, even that can get dull.

Native Dutch white people are and have been moving out of the big cities and into suburbs for years now due to the growing non-Dutch population in the cities.

It's probably not as exciting as this fantasy you have in your head, most people will spend the majority of their time in their home country or where they live and not jet about from place to place sampling the best each country has to offer plus rail travel can be expensive in Western Europe. Anywhere can be exciting but it depends on you.

I find alot of Euro's tend to stay in there own countries most of the time and make travel to one particular spot for vacation.

The Brits are known to be travellers but there is a large population that don't like to leave there town/villages/cities, funny enough London has the whole north vs south rivalry which is stupid to say the least.

Living and working in Europe has the advantage that you get more vacation on average than in the US. More time to travel.

Also, short trips to other countries are easier.

But 42 out 48 weeks you will be staying at "home", at least if you are employed in Germany. I'd rather focus on what quality the life at home has than on the travel opportunities, unless you are self employed and location independant.

And, as has been said, there is less cultural exchange between the countries than most would expect. Moving to a country that is just 100 km away can give you a culture shock just as big as moving to another continent !

In Europe, it's not the blacks or the latinos, it's the muslims. They are on the outside. White flight is just not as marked and visible due to how cities are constructed in most European countries but the segregation is there.
