Not really, the stereotypes always an exaggeration of reality, but when I go to england or anywhere in the UK (Ireland included) I see far less goodlooking girls and also way more fatties than among continental europeans/scandinavians. And Im not comparing Britian with eastern europe/ FSU , but also with other continental europeans like Denmark, netherlands, belgium, france, etc where pretty girls are found everywhere but they are a rare sight among the british.

Because they are in love with london, their accent and culture (call it greatness) more with the english people(or british for that matters) individually or collectively speaking neither with britain/england as a whole.
Its the same with people who dream visiting paris for some reason but they are not in love with the whole french people or france as a whole, just paris becuase the only meaning of that word is for them some sort of idealization.

Thats why nearly every swede who romantize britain (london in specific) are nearly always the women , whom are more prone to fall for superficial things such as accent or some supposed fake charm.

Vicious is right to point out that seemingly half the forum is an armchair expert on Sweden and the social vibe here. And of course, very few are.

I would say Sweden has a quite complicated social culture, and people who stay here for only 2-3 weeks get a very false sense of how the country is.

We are in some sense the world's least nationalistic people and the world's most nationalistic people(but dressed-up in progressivism) at the same time. It's hard to explain, but yes, a girl in Sweden will be so friendly to strangers it is bordering on Xenophilia and/or Oikophobia. However, she(I'm talking about the good AND hot girls now, not the cokeheads trawling the nights with a fake tan and fake tits) also has really high standards.

A Swedish woman is much less likely to accept you being unemployed, not helping out in the home, not taking time off work to spend time alone with the new-born children(if you two have any). She also expects tons of other things, and it's subtle. It's not like she snaps it in your face like a stereotypical Italian woman might do. Swedish women have their own definition of what it means to be a man. And a lot of folks delude themselves that they all want these dark, husky men from other parts of the world. Nah, they don't sit up dreaming about you. They probably don't even think about you in their everyday life. But if you'd come here, you can bet your ass that they would not discriminate against you and treat you fairly and evenly.

Again, race is a very insignificant thing in Sweden. But for longer flings, romances etc, being a white guy helps a lot with the 'good girls' if we put it that way. HB10 kind of girls in Sweden, as many have pointed out, have a surprisingly large amount of non-sluts in their population and many of them are sweet. But those girls also tend to be more conservative in their partner pickings, and that's why I said white guys(North European types) from North America or Australia have an advantage. Same with Dutch guys.
Of course, if all you are after is quick sex, then what I just said doesn't matter. But even those girls tend to hop less into the sack. If you take the infamous 'sex trips', and I have been one a few when I was younger(and fitter) the kind of guys they mostly screw around with, I'm talking about the really hot babes, tend to be other Scandinavian tourists or North Europeans.

Having said that, we identify with Anglo-Saxon culture generally. So it's true that an English guy wouldn't have problems but I would also say that English guys don't have any specific advantage the way an American guy have. Canada is also sort of in there with England. It's not seen as that cool. Australia is much cooler by contrast. We like English football and the like. I'd say an English guy probably has a higher chance in the sense that he can get into social circles with influential Swedish guys, who can then introduce him to the pearls. Swedish guys follow the Premier League more than their own national football league. English music, culture etc is also huge. Lots of ex-pat Swedes studied or worked or now lives in London.
There is a general cultural reference there. I wouldn't say it makes you more 'sexy', but it makes you more viable for long-term relationships, for sure.

But most of what I've said now is for a specific kind of Swedish girl and for longer-term flings and/or relationships. Just casual and mindless fun is likely to attract a different, more generic kind of girl. She may be hotter in Sweden, but you've met her incarnation all across the world. And for that, generic game rules is all you need. But if you want to snag a Swedish tenner, who's also smart, sweet and all the rest, it's actually kind of hard for foreigners who are non-North European in their origin. Of course, it happens and it can happen. But it's rare. It's not like these girls are racist, it's just that you need a very high progressive value system. So progressive, secular and educated white guys coming from NYC or London have a very natural advantage here. Sleazy rappers, eh, don't.

Yes,swedish women clearly prefer the Anglosaxons.There is a mingle between these folks.I do not know what Germans can achieve in Sweden.For sure there is a friction with us Balkans you feel it very much in Denmark.The general consesus and vibe is against so we have to rely solely on looks.

There isnt really an anglosaxon looks imo, in fact more than a few of the wrongly called anglosaxons could pass for latins/southern europeans. To name a few:
Tom jones, sean connery, catherine zeta jones, rowan atkinson, gallagher brothers, beatles members, cheryl cole, victoria beckham, etc.
For example australian hugh jackman could easily pass for italian.

The real origin of most brits and their descendants is,native brythonic, with some few celtic, and germanic thrown in it.

I dont see how scandinavians can relate themselves to fake anglosaxons, since they are more related to half of europe before them.

I've been rollin' thru Sverige for many, many yrs., so there's not much you can tell me about the country, the culture, the women, ect. I do agree with a lot of what you've written -- but, not all.

I'm a globetrotting Afr-Am guy, and I consider myself hyper-progressive. As a matter of fact, Pres. Obama is to moderate for me (but, I'll vote to re-elect him in Nov. cause the alternative is beyond atrocious.) I'm on the same level of progressiveness with the majority of Swedish femmes, than I am with the women of any other country -- including the US.

I think he meant to generalize (and focus on the highest quality of Swedish women).

I found hip hop to be quite popular in Sweden. I seen Cuninglinguists/ Dilated Peoples, Looptroop and Timbuktu rip up some good crowds.

But I also know that there is a certain mistrust toward the black guys that sport an American hood look. Most of the guys that sport this look are not American however, but African.

I have never been to Sweden but have a good Swede friend and have come across them Swede girls now and then from them traveling. I find they do tend to be open and nice to brothers as we share alot of the same interests, especially hip-hop. Sweden is a big spot for underground hip-hop and I was cutting deals with music and clothing shops there back in like 05' these types of interactions is what sold me on Sweden being a pleasant place I may want to live. This fourm has sour'd me on that view though lol but I do plan one day to make a trek out thier to see what its all about.

All I will say I am black and have been there three times, now would I go there so many times if it were not decent?
To me it is the complete opposite of Toronto, so that should tell you everything you need to know.

I just find it amusing of the tremendous amounts of generalizations and rationalizations some people make.

Sweden has a very specific culture, unlike many countries in the world, and it's a culture which as I said is at once the most nationalistic in the world and the least nationalistic in the world - at the same time.

It's hard to explain but it's not a coincidence that both me, Vicious and other Swedes in this thread and other Sweden-related threads have sighed at the amount of clueless armchair amateurs who profess to know everything about Sweden. Clearly, they don't. It's enough for any Swede with enough working digits to figure out after reading some hilarious posts here.

The fact that so many people here have encountered Swedes when travelling should give you a clue. Sweden are among the countries whose people travel the most in the world. Well, first of all I don't think English guys "kill" in Sweden but on average a Swedish girl is more likely to be interested in conversing with an English-speaking guy than with a guy from let's say Asia, Africa or Latin America. I think the ability to make herself understood in his native language is a factor in this, as is the the fact that Swedes are more accostumed to anglosphere culture. It's not really an important question whether she wants to show off or not, but that is just something that I have sensed.
