I normally don't like female musicians (especially comediennes), but that was really good. I agree with speakeasy though, 31 year olds still get it. Although I'm sure that something mystical happens to most women when they hit 30 where they finally start looking. Then when it doesn't magically appear like they thought, they start pressing. Then they wind up screaming like the blonde in the video.

A lot of comedy is relating your personal pain to others in a funny manner. She's exactly 3 years older than me at 32 (we share the same birthday) and I notice on her wiki that there is no spouse. She's probably in a Queen of the Dorks kind of situation. She's not fat, she seems approachable, and a lot of their songs are pretty sexual, so she's probably got lots of geeks drooling over her. All that attention pumps up her own assessment of herself in the sexual marketplace. At the same time she's weird-looking and built like a little boy, so high-status men probably don't pay her much attention.

Ha. That animation video makes a point I've noticed and been making to other people. Look at who a girl marries, and it's not the man she loved the most, the best man, or any of that. It's just the man who happened to be in her life at the time she wanted to get married, generally age 27-30. She married Tom, but really it could have been any of her exes Joe, Jack or John just the same.

I also see the same thing in social circles. You see these couples in social circles, and as far as you can tell, everyone seems so bland and homogenous that it's just completely fucking random who dates who. If you were faced with 5 men dating 5 women, you could never tell who dated who.

And it's really not 29/31, more like 27/31 or 27/32. The combo of ego, confidence, and ambition in women peaks at 27, I'd say. Doubt sets in by age 29.

I had probably the mildest and most subtle "heh" thought in my brain when I watched that video. Sadly, they made their point in the most obnoxious and annoying way possible so that mild thought-chuckle got immidiately erased.

Comediennes: even if they actually do make a proper observational joke, their delivery ruins it
