Interesting article. His story reads like he wouldn't be out of place on the RVF. He hit a rough patch in the US and lost a lot of money. Liquidated his assets, moved to Belize to set up a business and bang young hotties.

I wonder what the private messageboard is that the article refers to.

Looks like he's being persecuted. Note how the article continually refers to the 17 year old 'minor' implying there's something wrong with the relationship when in fact the age of consent in Belize is 16. Dude is 66 years old

Bad PR for Belize if they're trying to attract foreign investment and enterprise.

I saw the story on another site, believe it was Gawker, where they mentioned the 17 year old briefly in passing. As soon as I saw that, I knew the commenters would fixate on that... Most were good natured, eg, in response to McAfee saying he has a heretofore dull life, "DAMN, dating a 17 year old at 66 is not dull at all!"

Just because he wore 80s clothes in the 80s was not beta. And being into tech is not beta when you are a successful entrepreneur with your name on the company. So no reason to think he was ever a beta-nerd in particular.

NBC had a 2 hour special on John McAfee and it was pretty interesting. A few years ago he sold everything in the United States with about 4 million dollars of his fortune remaining and bought 2 houses in Belize. He hired a bunch of body guards and had a bunch of 16/17/18 year old girlfriends. He dabbled in drugs, testosterone injections, sex with multiple girls at the same time, and small businesses in Belize. Sounds very similar to stuff on the RVF.

Good motivation that life is not over at 30, 40, 50, or even 60.

Here's how McAfee was living before his life went to shit. He's boning the two girls nearest to him. Both of them had messed up lives before meeting him.

This guy, John McAfee, has been in the news quite a bit, in the last year, but even in recent weeks. It seems pretty cool that he is contemplating ways that guys may be able to remain anonymous in their cyber communications, and I agree that it seems that in various ways, he would likely fit right in with quite a few of the ideological life choices of several RVF members. One important one is that he seems to like to bang and rotate several young girls into a sort of harem – though, living with multiple unstable girls like that may be a bit too risky because these kinds of girls may develop various jealousy fits.

Nonetheless, McAfee’s approach to living abroad in Belize, seems somewhat eccentric, even if you do NOT account for the fact that his life seemed to have gone into a further upheaval after his neighbor turned up dead (almost a year ago now), and McAfee was a “person of interest.” Instead of cooperating with that investigation, he became a fugitive and publicized his fleeing activities in order to supposedly protect himself from being assassinated by the Belize police.

No matter what, McAfee seems to like to have a certain amount of attention and a certain amount of drama in his life, and personally, I would prefer to draw less attention to myself – though it seems to be possible that his particular circumstances there may have been some factors beyond his control that caused him to have to draw so much attention to himself – as a form of necessity.

Also, McAfeee seems to have shown pretty bad judgment (whether it is called beta or not), when he chose to maintain the relationship with one of the young girls that missed him when she had tried to shoot him in the head (and previously had put a knife to his throat).

Personally, I would distance myself from any relationship with any person (whether man or woman) who has physically attacked me or even if I find out that a person has planned to physically attack me. I am NOT so fond of psychological attacks either, so in that regard, I have some difficulties understanding why McAfee would have put up with some physical attacks, which seem to have gone a bit too far for my liking.

In general terms yes, but from what I've seen of McAfee's videos, he often does scandalous things just for the sake of doing scandalous things, and seems to be far more bohemian/erratic than his counterpart. Walter White was always a very logical person and never did dangerous things unless they were necessary, whereas John McAfee does a lot of dangerous things and then makes them necessary.
