I've always given notice before quitting a job, except for once. I told my boss she was a fucking bitch and to go fuck herself. I had the flu at the time and about .5 seconds after that happened I felt like I could party all night. In my defense, she was a fucking bitch, and a terrible manager.

Luckily, I've been self employed for the past 2ish years. Working for other people is not something I want to do for 30 years.

I don't think it's a big deal. He's a student and had a part time job he didn't like that paid him low wages and he quit. Not the end of the world, unlikely to have an effect on his life in any major way.

Y'all are acting like he quit a 6 figure job after 25 yrs with the company. I would apologize to your friend and the manager. Say you're going through a hard time or some shit like that.

Got damn this dude was working for scraps everyone is saying he did the wrong thing by quitting? After school got out I told my boss I was good for atleast 40 hours a week. What a fucking mistake that was! I just finished working 9 days in a row at high ass hours and I feel like quitting. I would quit but I can't sustain a lifestyle like this being unemployed. So, I'm making up for lost time by taking two weeks off in June and throttling controlling my off days. Maybe this dude could have just taken some days off instead of quitting?

It's not that I'm lazy but when I'm working a shit ton of hours, personal business such as laundry, working out, grooming, and talking to bitches goes to the way side. I'm tired as fuck right now. I guess the plus side is I have more cash to spend blow in the coming weeks.

Anyways, I wouldn't exactly worry about it too much man-if you REALLY wanted the work you would have stayed around-as well as you are young and will do dumb things. But as stated and just for future reference (and something I'm having to deal with just recently as well) 1-Do have other options lined up and 2-never do this again. I understand it was probably a shitty job, but in the least if you are thinking of already quitting-at least try to be respectful and give them a heads up. It'll allow you to keep references in the future, stop things from possibly biting you in the ass, and who knows what'll end up happening to the people you worked for or with. They could very well end up helping you in the future possibly. Just sayin. Know its a biatch to work at a crappy job but ya gotta start somewhere amigo.
