Maybe he's banging hot chicks(he can surely have as hot as you can get) on the side, while wifed up someone he really likes? I actually know a few guys like that, who married down in terms of looks but haven't stopped swooping.

RE: Facebook CEO Mark Zuckerberg Gets Married
Believe it or not, I'm sympathetic to the idea that Zuckerberg actually loves this girl and the allure of being with someone who was with you when you were nothing. There is definitely something to be said for that in a time where women simply don't give a fuck and too many allow their hypergamous instincts to roam free and unfettered.

Maybe Zuck is aware of everything we're talking about here and has done the analysis and thought it through. Maybe. But I can't help but get the feeling that the guy is really just another beta drone when it comes to snatch. After all, if she really loves him, she'd stick around even if he didn't put a ring on it, right? Right?? If it's really about love, then she'd stay even if he didn't give her a lifelong billion-dollar legal claim to his wealth. And if he wants to spend the rest of his life with one woman that's totally fine. But you don't need to be married to do that.

But guys like Zuck don't think on that level. They don't understand their value. Guys like Zuck don't get it because they were chumps for so long and they acquired wealth and status before crucifying the beta within. They've never witnessed the kind of submissive, desperate, ridiculous shit that even the most beautiful & intelligent women will do for high-status men and so they have no idea that they've sold themselves short (this is also why these guys tend to pedestalize women, but that's another convo).

You combine that with culturally-ingrained gynocentrism and the ballgame is over for these guys before they ever figure out its (finally!) their turn at the plate. A lot of these guys see the wedding band as a stamp of maturity and of social acceptance. I see this shit almost everyday. Talented guys who have a lot of upside, but are so desperate for acceptance and "respectability" that they marry women who are ugly, nagging or otherwise unsuitable. They then justify it by implying that their submission to nagging wife is what "real men" do and that guys who avoided the trap are losers and immature. Their whole thought process is gynocentric to the core.

So, yeah, I'm skeptical of Zuck here. But I understand that every man's got to call his own shots. All the same, I can't help but wonder what shots would be called in a situation like this by a red-pill kind of guy.

Actually I don't have to wonder---I already know.

He probably does feel this way. I almost feel bad for him though, because you have to realize: he's married an American female.

This girl obviously has friends and family who are going to start pressuring her in a few years with the "you're too good for him" (yes, even a billionaire) and "he's too into his work and doesn't spend enough time with you". We've all seen in time and time again regardless of the man's status. The girl will come up with some illogical reason to not be happy with the situation and it's game over. We all know this is a losing battle on a long enough timescale regardless of the man's wealth and status. Our society has rules that allow women to divorce and get a massive payout for any reason or no reason at all. With that kind of incentive, it's only a matter of time for anyone.

...

Do you think that the fact she is an Asian American will make a difference? Surely divorce stats are significantly lower among asian American women than among white American women?

Probably a little, but the divorce rate among college grads is about 20%. The difference between Asian and white college grads is probably not that big. Plus there are tons of other extreme factors that make it hard to judge. My hunch is that the marriage will not end any time soon.

(05-20-2012 12:24 PM)JoyStick Wrote:  i think they will last because lets be honest here, she wouldn't be able to do better than him if she wanted to.

Women, at least nowadays, aren't necessarily looking for the "best man." They place value on independence. Being married to a $20 billionaire is better than making $20k as a waitress. But splitting with the billionaire, getting say $3 Bil, and *regaining your independence* - LOTS of American women will take that choice. Why is Kobe's wife leaving him - is she really going to do better? Probably not, but if she can split with a smaller but still ungodly amount of money, and not have to answer to some man, a bitch will take it.

And contrary to the popular wisdom on here, American women are not always looking to lock down an alpha. Plenty of hot young American girls are looking for fun and exciting times; to the extent that a man can deliver that, she'll hang out with him. But not at the expense of their independence. Locking down a man takes too much effort on her part, it's really not something she's interested in when she's convinced herself that things like her career, her vacations and her gaggle of girlfriends are more important than any man. It's not even hypergamy, it's just serial promiscuity.

RE: Facebook CEO Mark Zuckerberg Gets Married
MikeCF and Basilransom dropping some good wisdom, knowledge, and truth on this thread.

Yeah dude's wife is a 5, he could be fucking/marrying 10's, but at the end of the day isn't it about being happy in your life? Guys on here are so pussy and looks motivated, I understand because those are extremely strong drives for me as well, except I am not a one-dimensional person, I know there is more to life then just "fucking hot chicks."

If I were in the guy's shoes, yeah I'd do things differently. But, I can't say my way is right and everyone else's is wrong. As cliche, corny, and "beta" as it will sound to most of you, maybe Zuck truly has connected with her on a deeper level, loves her, and isn't as concerned or motivated by female attractiveness. Different strokes for different folks.

Also, basil is right, this chick was with Zuck from the GET, any chicks who come after him now, you can never know their intentions. This Asian chick, probably would stick with him, even if some how he lost it all, and ended up working as a busboy in 10 years (which is prob impossible), but anyways, sometimes you can't quantify or qualify shit like that. There is no formula or equation for happiness, 100 notches + anal sex from a 10 = enlightenment, happiness, and fulfillment.

The most ironic and humorous thing would be if Zuckerburg is happier and more fulfilled than Roosh with his 5 wife, then Roosh with his 1000 notches, and flings with HB 8-9 women.

This.

The guy's had access to boat loads of cash and successful people for the better part of a decade. Obviously he's aware of what's possible for a high status guy. He's seen what goes on in those circles.

You could say this is a natural decision for him. People tend to associate with others of similar background. A theme of the film is that he's not from a rich family, he's kind of an outsider to establishment circles. So the conservative choice for him is to marry someone who shares his background and has been loyal to him. He's going to feel comfortable with that person. Also kind of a huge "fuck you" to people that wouldn't have him as a member back in the day.

From an evolutionary standpoint, a hot looking wife would be more likely to give him nice looking sons and daughters. But look at the way he dresses, does he really look like a person who cares for aesthetics?

He's probably interested in having a stable wife that suits his lifestyle and lets him do what he wants to do. He doesn't want someone who is going to try and change him, make him fight battles in his own home.

If he so desires, he can have a steady stream of hot looking women on the side. Mistresses, escorts, groupies. A guy with options would make that a condition of his marriage. The cheating license would be understood. He only needs to keep it discreet.

She will stay with him. The journey with MZ and the kind of access he has is more interesting than anything else she's likely to get.

With the $50 billion he has, he could just buy an island or a small country with all the girls on it. I'd bet half of them would be better looking than his wife.

He probably doesn't have the competitive sex drive that most of us do. If I cared less about sex then I would be strictly looking for girl with a great personality, who proves to be loyal, and has no signs of mental illness.

Its kinda hard to compare Zuck to professional athletes, but many of those guys end up marrying their high school sweethearts, despite the fact that they could almost always do better look-wise.

RE: Facebook CEO Mark Zuckerberg Gets Married
Another point...how many guys in his position marry someone as accomplished as a doctor? All these years, she's been working towards a REAL career. A serious one, that takes years of intense study, and that study doesn't stop once you get a job. It requires total immersion. If her primary goal was to ride on Zuckerberg's coat tails, she could have taken an easier path. As much focus as he puts on his business, she'll probably be equally immersed in her OWN job. Doctors, at least early in their careers, aren't 9-to-5ers. Even with their pursuits over the time they've known each other, they've managed to stay together. My guess is they trust each other, and he's probably one of those guys that thinks it's important to be married at some point. As for her looks...well, he may not be all that driven by looks, and in HIS eyes, she may be beautiful. She's not a beast, and they're obviously connected in those other ways that are MORE important to a marriage. I wish him well.

I hear you man. But damn, I just couldn't imagine some shit like that. If I was him, I'd have retired from Facebook when I made my first couple billion. Facebook won't last forever. I'd make me money than GTFO. Some shit will come along and kill it just like Myspace and Freindster were killed. Either that or people will just get sick of it and prefer to start talking to their friends in real life again.

If I had that kind of money, my life would be a jet-set synthesis between Anthony Bourdain, Hemingway, the Dos Equis guy, George Clooney and Jay-Z. I'd just as soon jump off a bridge than be stuck for life with some mediocre brainiac Chinese girl from Harvard who could potentially divorce my ass and walk away with billions of my hard-earned dollars.

PS - Willing to bet the farm that Zuck doesn't have a prenup. She's been with him from the get-go and they got married in California with some of the most brutal divorce laws. That dude could really be fucked if this goes sour.

He ain't there for the money, he says, which could be true because he first turned down Yahoo for about $1 billion way back in 2006, and the subsequent offers were ofcourse much bigger than that.

Experts say Facebook is here to stay. Too strong a brand now, has matured, learned from others' mistakes and 1 in 6 people(and pretty much all of the urban world) in the world are on it.

If you could eliminate your sex drive, would you?

I wouldn't....But I get a lot of pleasure out of life that is totally unrelated to sex. Oftentimes sex got in the way of those other pleasures.

Needing to pursue women is a form of slavery. We become a slave to a desire.

I used to skip a workout to meet a chick. I'd lose focus at work because of a chick I was digging. Dating seemed random.

I learned game not so much to get more sex, but to control my access to sex. Game switched the power to me.

With game, I'm not caught in a storm where I can't get the women I want. I have more focus because when I want to meet women, it's no thing. Thus, there is a freedom to have other pursuits.

So I totally get Zuckerberg's choice.

Again, it's not my choice. I love women and the game far too much.

But I can understand why a guy might not want in the game.

That's why you're not a billionaire.

The same force that drives guys to run game all the time, to see a girl at the coffee shop and make an approach...is the same force that moves a guy to seek billions.

Saying you'd retire after starting your business is like a player saying he's going to retire after meeting a nice girl.

Those statements ignore the essential nature of the man.

Wolves hunt, players play, and entrepreneurs run businesses.

It's a way of life that doesn't change just because you've made a big kill.

While guys were/are saying, "Facebook in the next MySpace," 1,000 people became millionaires.

Game denalists say, "Game doesn't work!"

Guys who run game say, "Facebook is the next MySpace! We're in a bubble! America is doomed!"

Fear and jealously motivate game denalists.

Don't let those same forces motivate you.

Instead of saying, "Facebook is the next MySpace," find a way to cash in.

I often preach this sermon. It's 1,000% true.

The amount of time I spend on game directly (approaching, going on multiple dates), tangentially (this forum, working out logistics), or as a consequence is insane. I swear game is at least a part-time full-time job for me; I imagine the same or worse is the case for a plurality of this forum.

The time I spend pursuing chicks takes time from fostering other relationships (male friends, professional), honing other skills (playing my instrument), and making money. I wouldn't change a thing, but I'm one man--with finite time--and I've made a choice. Even when I'm doing other stuff (say, working in a cafe), the drive to go talk to the cutie in far corner takes me away from my work. Why do I need another girl to text or go out with? I already have 12 names written on the little posty note in my calendar. It's an addiction, like chasing money or status. It's the testosterone pushing me forward to seek out and accumulate more and more wealth--just of a different variety.

On the other hand, during periods where I've had stable, quality LTRs, my productivity has shot through the roof. When I was younger, had less game, and was actually satisfied in an LTR, I was a fucking beast.

I was like that for a year or two. Game was always on my mind. It was so bad that I'd beat myself up for not approaching a girl on the muni even after I had a long day and was just tired.

I.e., it wasn't approach anxiety. I was just spent. Yet I'd tell myself, "How dare you not make a move?!"

Game is rewarding because the more time you put in, the more you will get out.

Game is directly correlated with time. A guy who puts in his 10,00 hours or whatever magical number experts come up with is going to pull the hottest girls most often.

I've found a balance that works for me. My rewards are not as generous as some guys here, but my effort isn't as high, either.

I think the obsession is needed for a year or so, though, to get good.

I was thinking the same thing when I found out. I bet he has no prenup. In California where they've been trying to force palimony for decades, they'll look back at all income from the time she first spread her legs for him years ago.

The fact that she has her own career will contribute to the failure of their marriage. Roissy talks about this when he mentions the miserable lives of female attorneys. The girl might be a doctor, but she'll feel a need to compete with her hubby to prove something. As her need to compete increases along with her age, she'll become more and more masculine. She's a chubby version of Yoko Ono.

A male doc I know was telling me that a significant percentage of female doctors stop practicing full time not long after their residency.

I'd bet a lot of money she gets pregnant and that's the end of her full time medical career. Most women would rather be stay at home moms than try to balance work and motherhood, PROVIDED that they have the means to live a very comfortable life, and she clearly has that.

It's definitely an accomplishment, graduating from medical school, UCSF no less. But it's like some investment banker said about why he dates kindergarten teachers. It'd be such a mindfuck logistically and emotionally to date someone else who is pressed for time and stressed by a high powered career - why would I want to date a woman in that position? A man needs a woman who is emotionally available at least as much as women do.

That said, if I had to choose a wife from a certain profession, I'd choose a pediatrician. Intelligent, feminine, likes kids, isn't after big money or prestige.
