Another reason not to be in D.C.

Thankfully my state has "Castle Doctrine" laws on the books and allows for licensed concealed carry.

For the home, an alarm system, a smart dog, and the Remington 870 seem a pretty well-rounded self-defense system. I've always figured that most criminals would run before I ever had to pull the trigger - the sound of pumping a 12 gauge is unmistakable.

DC is crazy in that within the course of a couple miles you have places like Georgetown and Midtown where things are safe and fine and 2 miles over you have Anacostia, which I wouldnt ever go into unless I was driving and the doors were locked and windows up.

Georgetown is about 4-6 miles away. One of my friends lives near Nats Stadium where it's very nice, and literally a half a mile away across the river from Anacostia, which is a shit hole. 1 BR's go from $2,000 a month down to $700 or less...all this just one metro stop away from each other nuts.

Ahh it feels good to legally drive around with a 9mm right next to me . Isn't California the same way with guns? I know it's full of left wing liberals so I'm assuming you can't have a gun as easily as here. No surprise that Chicago and all these other places with anti gun laws have a crazy crime rate.

So funny. Violent crime is a problem so the politicians make it much more difficult for you to legally own a firearm. Like these fuckers committing the crimes are running around with registered firearms that they went out and purchased from a legitimate gun dealer lol. "Oh no, violent crime is way up! We have to make it tougher for people to legally buy guns so they won't have them to commit crimes with!"

Why does DC have a female police chief? I wonder if she was actually the best, and most qualified, person for that job? Given that police departments are largely made up of men, I would guess that a woman being the most qualified is a very low probability. A 40% increase in violent crime for a police chief who just renegotiated a $250,000+ yearly salary is ridiculous. Don't people get fired over shit like this?
