Club Dancing
I'm changing my venue to Miami soon and I understand clubs are the majority over bars. The main difference between the two is dancing obviously.

I've never "learned" to dance. I just used to do it back in college. I never thought twice about it. Now that i've seen some dudes nonchalantly bust out some sweet moves, it makes me think that dancing could be really fun. I'm self-conscious about it these days and think knowing some basic moves would really make dancing fun. I'm thinking house or hiphop, which seems to be the majority of music played at clubs.

I understand that dancing is fluid, its not just step 1, step 2, step 3, repeat... but I feel like building blocks are necessary, some basic steps that can be integrated.

Does anybody know of any good online resources for dancing. Maybe the kinda thing I could watch and practice in front of a mirror, as silly as it seems? I'd be willing to pay money if the material was legit. Banana

These DVDs are actually really good to get a feel for the basics to build up your confidence:

I think it's exactly what you're looking for in terms of learning to get a feel for things in front of a mirror. What I like about it too is that he demonstrates a few moves with a partner so you know what to 'expect' in the real world.

RE: Club Dancing
Honestly just don't over complicate things. My homie is a prairie white boy and learned how to dance quickly. I told him to do this............

..... Just follow and step to the beat. That's all you gotta do. Once your fluid with the beat eventually you internally bond with it and then moves and stuff come with time. I don't dance but I got them genes tho and even when I'm sober I'm kinda stuff, a few drinks tho and I get right greased up and fluid.

Don't over think it. I find kats that struggle dancing get to much going in their head and then don't focus enough on the music and their partner. Good ways to practice is just when your getting ready for the nigh blast some jams and just practice moving your feet to the beat, it al starts there and then when its game time its that much easier and if a song comes on you recognize the beat is always pre-preprogramed. Keep it simple. Good luck.
