The divorce documents include a clause that stimulates that any "intimate, personal and/or private information about the other party ... including details of their personal and/or sexual relationships" must remain confidential.

This also includes any "photograph, film, videotape, recording” of Millán, “which is not commercially available."

Millán and his wife were married 18 years ago in 1994 before he became a household name as the “Dog Whisperer.”

In June 2010 Millán announced his divorce. Details of the divorce later came out to show that Ilusión was seeking primary physical custody of their two boys, but that Millán would have visitation rights.

Most recently, Millán was part of Hispanicize 2012 in Miami, an event "focused on Latino trends and trendsetters in social media, entertainment, marketing and media.”

I wish I could get $23K a month just for existing. All hilarious dog jokes aside, the idea that a divorced husband is obligated to support his ex-wife at the standard of living that she "became accustomed to" by living off his dime is the biggest piece of bullshit in all of divorce law (and that's saying something). I could maybe see her getting a small stipend if she was living as a housewife instead of developing job skills but this is completely ridiculous. It's legalized theft, plain and simple.

Getting married in America is one of the stupidest things you can possibly do.

I agree. Since they were married 16 years ago, I guess they got hitched before Milan made it big and began raking in the dough. An able-bodied woman should NOT be entitled to any alimony payments. Only what's necessary for child support. If women knew they could not maintain the lifestyle they are accustomed if they divorced, perhaps they would think harder about doing it. Like you said, if they were strictly housewives, then I could see her getting a stipend, but even then it should only be temporary or it's no different than someone living off welfare for the rest of their life.

How do men organize to make these changes in divorce law. All men know how shitty divorce laws are, and men are more socially influential than women, so how do we allow it to happen? What can we do to start a sea change and get rid of these anti-male divorce laws?

That's actually a pretty sweet deal considering they were married long before he was famous or making money, which generally sets you up for some serious ass rapage in family court.
A fixed amount of 33k/month out of his current 170K/month income, and only a flat 400K...not bad.

1. he has kids so a deal is better than fighting
2. he is a big name/brand...I haven't looked into this, but I would imagine this guy is on the gravy train for life with various product deals and books beyond his TV show. The pet market is huge, and he is trusted.

Apparently most of you guys seem to somehow ignore the fact that this settlement was not imposed on them by the court. They reached it themselves, so apparently it was good enough to both parties. Unlike in the trial where the assets are public information, it is impossible to estimate who "won" in the settlement as there may be a lot of things which we do not know about.

Two things to consider are that a) unlike child support, the spousal support is tax deductible (which at his tax rate effectively lowers the amount by at least the third) and b) for pretty much all of us the value of "details of their personal and/or sexual relationships" exceeds our three month salary.

Honestly I don't even understand why the people got pissed off about it.

He makes money because of his talents, not hers. Without her he still makes that money. Without him she would likely be with some guy making 50 grand a year.

While the settlement may not have been imposed by the court, it was certainly influenced by previous judgements. Knowing that if you do not settle the court will impose similar, or worse in his case, financial penalties it behooves one to come to an agreement. So to say that since they agreed to it it's all good is ridiculous.

To imply that spousal support being tax deductible minimizes any financial penalty shows a lack of business sense. He isn't taxed on it because he essentially never earned it. His income went from 170K/month to 147k/month.

So yeah, I'd say he got penalized pretty heavily.

He didn't get penalized, and it could have been much worse. I wouldn't be surprised if there was a video out there of him having a threesome with a great dane and a border collie, and he gets to keep his privacy.

This is business.

Marriage is a legal contract.

If you enter into it without a full understanding and acceptance of what that contract means legally, then you are a fool.

Ha! That's right. Women who get alimony should be responsible for the husbands pussy and food needs until he re-marries. I used to watch this show religiously (it helped my game big-time), and eventually got to respect the guy enough to read his story. His wife, Ilusion, actually helped him quite a bit in building the business. She did a lot of day-to-day shit and, I want to say, even did a lot of work on the production of the TV show.

Even though that may not be worth the dollar amounts mentioned here, this isn't your typical stay-at-home, open-your-legs, gain weight American-wife agenda.

I understand where you are coming from and can see that point of view. As I don't follow the guy at all I was not aware of his wife's assistance in his career.

To be the devil's advocate however, he could have hired someone to do the same and at most would possibly be on the hook for a one time severance payment.

In a business sense, marriage is a huge financial risk without a positive financial gain.

I met cesar once, cool guy. His show very entertaining. Had he failed in business, would have she still stuck around while they risked everything. Businesses usually fail. However, IMHO, once you divorce you divorce all ties to a person. That includes financial support.

Does she or any other woman deserve alimony? NO.

Now since western society is pro woman, you have women marrying out of financial interests, not for love.

For example, lets take 2 women. Woman A marries a rich guy, while B marries a poor guy. When both get divorced, one will get nothing, while the other continues living like a queen. Now, if both meet by chance B will say to herself in hndsight, I should have waited for mr rich guy. Get to live a comfortable life even without a man. Now, I cannot blame her because who wouldn't want to have an easy life, living off the talents of somebody else. There are a few repurcussions with this dynamic.
1: woman B will seek rich men making her in essence a gold digger. This quest will make her blind and ignorant of other suitable mates who aren't rich, but wtogether they can live a modest life.
2: woman B in this quest may have missed out on procreating by waiting too long to find that perfect mate. Thus leaving her infertile and less desirable by many men for a LTR. she may become miserable or resentful of all men due to her own fault, and blame men for not passing on her genes.
3: woman B may poison others with her negativity or shall I say jealousy. Telling others not to choose men who won't be able to support her after divorce with a fabulous life. Thus having women wait longer to choose a mate in hopes Mr.insurance policy comes along. While waiting she may miss out on finding her "soulmate" and run into problems conceiving by being stressed, emotionally drained and financially worse when having to pay fertility treatments by being too old in trying to conceive later on.

This effects society in many ways. The population doesn't grow, but decreases. Without immigration, many western countries would stagnate. Pensions for example, are already in dire straits. Without young workers to pay taxes, there is no money in supporting this ponzi pension scheme. The dominoe effect, affects all parts of society. Less demand for houses, prices will fall leaving many upside down in their mortgages. The list goes on and on.

4: woman A will continue to date and live like a queen. She may become the target of gigilos and leaches in her family who will cry poor. Usually lump sum settlements will disappear in a few years.

5: woman A may become a symbol of strain or hardship by her ex who has to pay for her lifestyle. His animosity may cause her hardship. OJ Simpson IMHO killed his ex Nicole. Now, there may be million other reasons why he did it or didn't. All I can say is that jealousy (seeing her with another man, not having her etc) and dare I say funding her lifestyle all together led him to do this. It isn't the first time a rich ex wanted to kill his ex wife. I think had there been no alimony, she would have had a different lifestyle, perhaps worked more (not sure of her work situation) but she lived more comfortably with him footing the bill. As well, maybe she would have worked harder at keeping the marriage going. Yes there was the spousal abuse ( maybe she opened her trap too much and oj put her in her place) of course we.dont know that. But she had that "insurance" alimony to support her as a way out. As well, had there been no alimony, maybe she would nt have married the dude in the first place. The ohh well, of it fails at least i will get a financial windfall monthly.

Now, both women A and B (along with other women) suffer because of alimony. Does alimony help more than it harms? I think it does. Will Cesar's wife be happier with alimony knowing of all the bitterness and problems attached with it ?

I am not privy to how much she was involved in Cesar's success. Only Cesar knows. This is why the court should not decide how much she should get. Cesar should have final say. Period. Paul McCartney the Beatle, had to pay millions to heather mills in a divorce. I'm thinking, what the hell did she do to deserve that? She didnt go on Ed Sullivan, tour, travel and perform. She deserves nothing. Once you divorce, all ties cut off. Alimony should be abolished. it causes more harm for all in society both for poor woman B and rich woman A.

If women didn't have state sanctioned access to funds/wealth they had little or nothing to do with creating the divorce rate would drop substantially.

How many broads would ask for a divorce if it meant the end of the gravy train? I speculate very few.

It's not just alimony either. Women fight for full custody of the kids because that means daddy has to pay child support, which many (most?) treat as their own money. Hell, I've worked with guys paying over $1200/month in child support. It doesn't take that much to raise a kid, but it sure helps buying a car. It's not for the good of the kids when mommy is driving a new car while working as a checker at Wal Mart....

Marrying a guy with money should not be the equivalent of hitting the lottery, subject to paying out whenever she decides it's time to go.
