Wardrobe Style Consultants
Any advice on these? I'm thinking of upgrading. It seems like 90% of my wardrobe is always out-of-season, inappropriate, ill-fitting, or at the dry cleaner. And it's a big wardrobe! A few hundred would not be a terrible investment for a good consultant and shopping help.

I think Virgil Kent is trying to start up a style consultant business, if you're in the D.C. area, I suggest you PM him.

RE: Wardrobe Style Consultants
I know of someone in NYC that runs a style consultancy business for men. Has his own website and plenty of experience doing exactly what you're looking for. I know he's very busy with his career, and isn't cheap, but if you want to look your best, he's the guy.

PM me for more details.

Pick out cool looks in magazines like GQ, Esquire, etc.

Go to store -> ask either gay guy or women sales helpers to help you determine your look based on what you find in a magazine.

Price: free.

I'd highly recommend spending some time with Virgle Kent if you are in the DC area. I did and it was definitely beneficial.

This is the cheap way to go about it, but I think hiring someone who knows what they are doing is a much better idea if you can afford it. Or the middle ground is to check out the ebook that KinoWear.com just put up for sale. Only $37 I think. I haven't purchased it yet, but I will eventually. They have some really good articles on there and also over at Primer Magazine. This is a good one I've been checking out since I am over here in Bangkok: http://www.primermagazine.com/2011/spend...ens-shorts

Wardrobe consultants are shit. If it's dudes they are gay and dress you gay. Women consultants will dress you never to get approached. Did your mom ever dress you good? No. You get free next level style advice here. Post what yoh think is cool and we'll verify. Successful players don't take style advice from the non players.

I doubt that style consultants will put the pants and shirt on you so you should be good.

I literally just picked one up, will give deets to guys here on what I think in May. My approach was to go through the dudes examples of styles (good ones have tons of looks on various dudes from tall to skinny to light to dark etc etc).

Also makes you want to get fit. I have packed on serious weight gain knowing I need to be the exact size I need to be.

RE: Wardrobe Style Consultants
http://masculinestyle.wordpress.com is the BEST style blog on the internet and the writer is part of the "Manosphere" too which satisfies the player comment. He doe like 3 posts every day. Checkout the Staples series it's basically breaking down every piece of a man's wardrobe and exactly how to make each look good. I regularly save his posts to Word documents in case the blog ever goes down and I lose the knowledge.

Go to the highest end suit shop in you town and get all of your real mesurments. At most places this is free, some cahrge a small fee. Now that you know your real sizes, its easier for you to order online. Check out http://www.thestyleblogger.com, http://www.mensstylepro.com, http://www.ramosreport.tumblr.com or my favorite http://www.hombresentrajeycorbata.tumblr.com. Join Gilt group or some other online auction house, steal all of these people's look, then proceede to rape and pillage the countryside.

I think if you could choose one store to buy your clothes from, it would be J-Crew. They are killing it right now and its everywhere. just look at the online pics to get ideas, etc.

Buy this book: http://www.amazon.com/Gentlemans-Guide-G...962&sr=8-2 its great. more classic styles, formal business, italian style, british style, but its a great foundation for now and the future. explains different patterns, etc.

I think anything with a classical look is good. Think custom shirts and suits. Too often you see people trying to be "edgy" with their style but they end up looking like total retards.

I'm less than half way through the J-crew website, and I am impressed. Had no idea they had so much to offer. You could 1 stop shop there be ok. I'm making a list now things to buy. I'll have to try on a suit before buying, but everything else looks great.

Never personally tried one coz I never felt the need, but I'd suggest that if you're in doubt and don't mind spending, just blindly go for the real high-end Italian designers like Armani, Dolce and Gabbana, Gucci, Versace, Zegna, Prada, Hugo Boss(cheaper and not Italian but definitely up there). You'll never be disappointed. All of their stuff is a class apart and women will always notice.
